New York, NY

  • Starts at $4,500

We are a married couple of photographers. Within years of career, we discovered what’s really matters - we want to make people happy. Weddings have it all: new interesting people, touching stories, warm family relationships, tears. A lot of tears! Oh, don’t forget dances and sparklers! So, it’s fun! 🙂 Also, we love weddings because it’s the most challenging kind of photography in the field, it combines all the genres. It make you think, move and react quickly in constantly changing surrounding. We have no room for mistakes. So It’s never boring! 🙂

Awarded Best of Zola
Tati and Roman were so easy to work with, and we’re so grateful we chose them for our big day. They were calm, creative, and flexible - added tons of good ideas while respecting ours, stayed in schedule, and really know how to work within the confines of Manhattan. We can’t recommend them enough - if you’re still looking, this is the right pick!

I can't say enough great things about NJ Wedding Studio! Frank was so easy to work with and our photographer, Daniel, is GREAT at what he does! When I first reached out to Frank, he responded back right away with pricing and everything I might need to know. We scheduled a phone conference to talk more about what my husband and I were looking for. Right away, I got the sense that Frank was so organized and knew what he was doing. Throughout the entire process, Frank was answering our questions promptly and never left us in the dark. We scheduled an engagement photo session with Daniel and couldn't have been happier! I'm personally not comfortable in front of the camera, but Daniel posed us throughout the entire session and made us feel very at ease. Daniel was also very easy to work with. We got our photos back EARLY in color and black and white. The quality was amazing and they turned out beautiful. On our wedding day, Daniel was prompt and got started with the photos right away. He followed what my husband and I wanted to capture, as well as other photos I wouldn't have even thought to take. He arrived at 1pm and was with us until 11pm. He captured us getting ready, first look, group shots, ceremony and party shots. We got a sneak peek not even 24 hours later and to say they looked amazing is an understatement! We received all of our pictures 3 weeks later and enjoyed looking at them together. Not a single moment was missed. Thank you, NJ Wedding Studio, for being apart of our dream wedding!

Justin McCallum Photography

5.0

New York, NY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,200

Hi! I’m Justin (he/him) and I’m here to affirm your love, make you feel like a fucking rockstar, and dance like a total fool. Oh, and take so many gorgeous photos of y’all. Obvs. My style blends both documentary photojournalism and fine art photography: coaching folks who are shy in front of the camera, then stepping back to capture authentic moments uninterrupted. I’ve been lucky enough to have my work published by A Practical Wedding, The New York Times, GLAMOUR, People Magazine and many other fabulous outlets. I'm a stereotypical Capricorn that loves drag shows, campy horror films, every dog I meet, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Awarded Best of Zola
Justin was the first vendor we booked after choosing our venue, and we could not have made a better choice for our wedding. From our initial consultation meeting (over drinks at a low key bar) I knew that Justin was the photographer we needed. My husband and I both instantly felt comfortable with him which was incredibly important to us as people who are not particularly excited about having our pictures taken. Justin worked hard to ensure he knew our vision for the day, asked about any insecurities we had about being photographed, and made sure to find out how he could help us feel calm the day of. I had NO idea how important that last part would be until the day of when I was suddenly feeling like an ultra-stressed bridezilla. Every time I panicked about timing or something potentially going wrong Justin was a calm voice of reason, ensuring me everything was on track and working with our families to make sure everyone was where they needed to be. Whenever anyone asks what the best part of the wedding was, we tell them it was the 30 minutes we spent walking around our venue neighborhood with Justin. It was the calmest and happiest we felt all day. In addition to being a phenomanal person to work with, Justin’s work product is truly amazing. I don’t think of myself as particularly photogenic, but Justin made me feel like a model in our engagement and wedding photos. I don’t know how he did it, but he captured the exact vibe of our relationship and your wedding. Our families can’t stop sharing the photos, and I am always waiting for another excuse to share one. If you want a professional, hilarious, insanely talented photographer for your event you cannot go wrong with Justin.

Emma did our engagement photos in NYC and there were absolutely perfect! Exactly what we were looking for! We live in NYC but are getting married in KC, so we wanted some photos that reflect our life here in NY. Emma was so accommodating to our very basic requests but put in the creative effort to make sure our photos were unique to us despite being against iconic NY back drops. Emma made us feel very comfortable. The entire process was easy - from initial consult to finished photos - and we couldn't be happier with our experience.

Rebeca and Andrew were extremely attentive and personable, and really just a calm presence that everyone needs on their big day. Hey, I'm Mary! It's nice to meet you. Summing up who I am in an "about me" is always difficult. What you must know: (1) I'm a nerd. If you want to talk video games, LOTR or Doctor Who, we HAVE to sit down for a bourbon or a coffee. (2) Yes, I will be out on that dance floor with you snapping away while joining in on the fun. And (3), while I'm a photographer first, supporting you during the planning process feels crucial to me - from building a timeline to having your back any way I can.

I’ll also note that my wife - who tends to be a bit particular about things - left me in charge of finding the photographer, and she hasn’t stopped praising me for what a great choice I made with Shelby. Kim-Trang Photography

5.0

New York, NY
  • Photojournalistic style

After working 10+ years in corporate America in NYC, California and traveling the globe, I found myself wanting more than what the traditional career path had set for me. I stumbled into photography while I was on maternity leave with my oldest and started a side hustle that I had no idea was going to turn into a complete career change years later. From the very first wedding I shot, I knew I was onto something. And ever since then, I haven't looked back.

Awarded Best of Zola
Kim was one of the first vendors that my husband and I booked. As soon as we had our introductory call with her, we were hooked! Like many other couples, it was our first time being photographed and we wanted to find someone that would make us feel as comfortable as possible. Kim was warm, genuine and patient with us. She knew exactly what to do and how to get us to open up in front of the camera. Due to the pandemic, when we had to postpone our original wedding date, Kim was extremely accommodating and understanding. And as a stressed out couple whose plans were constantly changing, she was so helpful in offering solutions and suggestions for us. We are forever grateful to Kim for capturing our wedding day so beautifully. Although we didn’t hire a videographer, the photos itself told the whole story of our day. Clicking through the pictures, it felt like we were watching a movie. We found so many moments that we didn’t even realize she caught. She happened to be in the right place at the right time. And her photography style was exactly what we were looking for. We didn’t want too many posed photos and wanted something timeless. She allowed us to focus on each other and our photos reflected our honest emotions. She is truly authentic and forms wonderful connections with all of her couples. Kim is more than just a wedding photographer and we would highly recommend her to everyone.

I photograph love because I believe in it. I don’t believe in it in the way that a little girl believes in ferries or unicorns, a hopeful “I think it is real” kind of a belief, I believe in its power. I believe that love is the most important emotion we will feel in this lifetime and I believe it has the greatest ability for good. I believe that each human on this earth should have the opportunity to feel deeply loved and to love another deeply themselves. I believe that love is something that should be treasured, cared for, and celebrated.

She has the most inviting personality, and we warmed up to her so quickly I felt like she was just another friend hanging out with the bridal party while she was taking my getting-ready photos. Last, but not least, our wedding photos are absolutely stunning and something we will always treasure. I could really go on and on, but all you need to know is you will not regret booking her!

Mikkel Paige Photography doesn't simply take photos - she creates them. She'll laugh and joke with you to get those smiles going to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera so you’re free to be yourselves. Her vibrant photos resonate with couples who gravitate towards color and the details. Mikkel is an avid traveler and will go any distance to capture love and work with fun-loving couples, from the Caribbean, to California, Walt Disney World, Norway and beyond.

Awarded Best of Zola
My husband and I cannot applaud Mikkel enough for being such a superstar photographer! She is truly a professional with a bubbly, upbeat attitude and she possesses the rare ability to make you feel like the most important person in the world when she speaks to you. Not only did she remember our wedding day details, but also she made an attempt (successfully) to remember all the names of our family members and friends. My husband and I were also blown away by her amazing talent of being in five places at once on our wedding day. Mikkel captured absolutely gorgeous photos that look bright and natural--exactly what we wanted! It is impossible to pick a handful of favorites from her gallery because they are all gorgeous. We cannot thank her enough for her positivity, professionalism, and eye for what we wanted to remember. You have found your photographer here- look no further :)

I found my love for photography in a high school dark room, and I have continued to follow that passion to find myself today working as a hybrid photographer in both Film and Digital. I strive not to just take pictures, but to capture candid emotions and capture them in a beautiful way. My photography is personal and intimate. My approach is a mixture of fine art and documentary, I try to capture your moments and day as it happened but highlighting the special details and taking advantage of the best lighting. As a lover of history I love capturing personal and family histories that surround weddings.

Welcome to our creative world! We are David and Katie, a photo and video dynamic duo from the peach state. But, we are more than just visual storytellers. We want to get to know you and build a friendship that extends beyond our lens. Our goal is to capture genuine memories that you'll cherish for years to come.

Awarded Best of Zola
I looked through several different groups when attempting to find the best photographer for our wedding and Hevesi Journal made it easy to choose them. We mainly interacted with Katie, who was professional and calming and funny throughout every encounter. We did our engagement photos with her as well as our wedding photos and both sets turned out better than I could have imagined. Getting photographs that really showed the essence of us as a couple was one of the more important things we had hoped for when planning the wedding and this goal was certainly achieved. For our engagement photos, Katie followed us up a mountain and during the wedding she made sure that all of our desired groupings (for example, my father and his siblings) were captured with ease. I would 100% use their services again and if I have anything that needs documenting in the future will not be hesitating to reach out.

i consider myself too much of a hopeless romantic and a laid-back photographer to bring the best in you! i’ve been told that nurture is my superpower, and documenting love stories is my outlet. over the years i’ve learned that when it comes to being creative, art it’s what makes me feel alive, that's why my approach to photography is to have an "as-personal-as-possible" experience with my couples by valuing authenticity and connection. to make the whole process feel light and easy! your life’s best moments and stages deserve to be documented in a way that tells YOUR story.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Juan. His kindness, professionalism, and creativity truly set him apart in the world of wedding photography. I live in New York City and Northwest CT with my wife and our two rescue dogs. I am a commercial lifestyle and wedding photographer. My creative journey began when I spent a decade touring the country with my indie rock band, The Booda Velvets. While on tour I was always taking photos with my dad’s old Pentax film camera and a Polaroid SX70. During this time, my passion for documentary style photography was born and after touring I traded the guitar for the camera and haven’t looked back.

Not only is Adam an extremely nice guy and very, very easy to work with, but the photos themselves are stunning. His sense of framing, of color, of timing...everything. He really captured the joy of our wedding and made all of us look beautiful. Thanks, Adam! And be sure to ask about the archival quality printed photo albums he makes. 100% worth it as a lifetime souvenir.

I have been sitting on doing a review for Alexis for a while now because I can't even find the words to describe how thrilled we are with our photographs. From the very start she was an absolute joy to work with by being so helpful and sweet throughout our planning process. We did not want the conventional "posed" wedding pictures- we were going for a much more genuine journalistic/ documentary approach. The candid moments are the types of pictures that break your heart with awe. You can literally hear the laughter, tears, music and clinking of glasses as you scroll through the shots. She captured the beauty of our venue in ways we did not even have the chance to appreciate during the whirlwind of the day. Our favorite part is how she was so natural and calm (even with our overwhelming doting Italian family) that there were times we didn't even notice she was there. She was voyeuristic at the best times and yet in moments where it was hectic and we felt overwhelmed she was instrumental, extremely organized and provided structure. She also was so much fun! On top of her eye for BRILLIANT photography, she has an amazing sense of humor. My friend snapchatted me dancing like a mad woman to Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance With Somebody and in the corner of the frame Alexis (unbeknownst she was being filmed) is taking pictures of the party and singing along to the song- having a blast! That 7 second clip speaks volumes about her sparkling personality. She truly loves what she does and it shows in the amazing finished product. Additionally she was a wonderful resource for planning. She very much understands the "Out of the Box" bride that wants something a little more different and unique and she is great at giving advice on all aspects of a wedding. The compliments about our pictures are endless! We keep finding ourselves pouring over the album over and over again, reliving and savoring every special moment Alexis gave back to us.

Twah is pronounced as it’s spelled or like “3” in French. My boutique photography business is rooted in NYC but always ready to travel the world. As a former NYC Fashion Designer, I take my knowledge of style & weave it into my photography approach. I believe: 1. Your wedding day should not be spent in long posed formal photo sessions. 2. Personal details are an integral part of your day’s story. 3. Wedding images should be timeless yet stylishly current and natural. 3. Making the most of a rainy day or a mishap usually ends up being fun memories to look back on. 4. Beauty is within. Positivity radiates. Authenticity is perfection.

Twah is a DREAM to work with! She is organized, efficient, and thorough. She was so helpful during our walk-through with our wedding planner weeks before our big day and worked so well with our planner to develop the final detailed day-of schedule. She kept us moving on the day of... we even had a little time to relax and catch a breath before the ceremony started! She learned the names of our entire bridal party and family (about 35 people), which made the formal photo sessions so smooth and efficient (especially with the kids)! Beyond working with her, she creates and captures such beautiful moments - her photos are just breathtaking. She came up with so many creative ways to style and frame photos, and did so in a way that truly captured US. While her photos speak for themselves, we could not more emphatically recommend Twah for your special day!

Words would never do them justice but i will try — I wouldn’t want anyone else to of been there photographing our special day! The first time we met Madison and Zac we knew they were the right fit, their style was everything we wanted - bright, not too photoshopped pictures, candid moments & photos that would take us back to our wonderful wedding day just by looking at them. Every time we look back on our gallery it’s literally like reliving that day! They did our engagement shoot, rehearsal dinner + wedding day. Traveled all the way from FL to Pittsburgh, PA for us during a pandemic!!! They will forever be our go to photographers as long as they and we stay local! HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Greens!

FABRICE TRANZER

What keeps me wanting to photograph more weddings is the realization that every wedding carries a different story longing to be told. No two weddings have ever felt the same to me, and when I walk into yours, all the images I have made at other weddings are forgotten. I see it a bit like jazz, or French cuisine--the ingredients are simple and pretty much always the same, but the outcomes are always unique, never to be reproduced to the identical.

Awarded Best of Zola
We hired Fabrice for our 3 day summer camp wedding in Vermont. He was amazing to work with, and the pictures came out fantastic - better than we could have hoped. He handled our no wifi, no cell service wedding venue easily, and took the most amazing photos. I have family that hates taking photos, and he made the process of formals painless and fun. I could not recommend him enough. The care and artistry he takes with the photos is amazing - I felt like our wedding was a work of art!

We are Roge and Fernando and we want you to know some things about us. We passionately and creatively document love stories. (It feels so cheesy when I see it written, but it’s true.) And we want you to understand that there are no second chances to get it right, and that we are obsessed with getting it right. This is your wedding, our work will tell your story forever, and we don’t take that lightly. At all.

My now wife and I got Married on October 7th 2016. We reviewed and interviewed several photographers before making our decision and chose Roge and Fernando because of their photographic style, professionalism and warm personalities. Roge and Fernando were hands down the very best vendors and people to work with before during and after the event. Prior to the wedding we we able to connect several times to discuss the timeline and all details leading up to the big day, they both always had great input and were immensely helpful leading up to the day. We could always count on Roge to help us iron out the details of the timeline and Fernando has an excellent eye for photography and was able to give us direction when choosing some of the spots to take photos in. We decided to do a first look and walk around prior to our wedding to get some shots of just us before heading to the venue. They were able to take so many amazing pictures during that time and we ended up event having a bit of time to relax before the ceremony, because we were 30 minutes ahead of schedule! The balance they create as a team is great because Roge is able to direct Fernando and manage his time to best capture more moments and Fernando creates these wonderful images. The final outcome of our photos was absolutely breath taking, we did not have a videographer and it was not necessary because Fernando was able to capture all if the emotion, movement and feeling of our wedding in every shot. The reception the photographs have so much energy that when scrolling thru our final photos we were able to re-live our wedding again! The mood, lighting, energy and feeling of our special day is captured in these images forever and I cannot thank them enough for going above and beyond for us. I would recommend them to anyone. I have so many friends, family and colleagues that have asked us about them. They are the very best people to work with! Thank you again! We will forever be grateful and in-love with our wedding photos.

I stay behind the camera because I'm more than a little introverted. That is, until I get to know people. Then I open up and we can talk about movies, music, dogs (I'm happy to show you pictures and videos of my rescue dog). I love what I do because I get to capture moments between you and the most important people in your life that you'll be able to relive for decades to come!

Casey is a great combination of technical and interpersonal skills - he's a terrific photographer who also knows how to talk to humans and make them feel comfortable. I have sent him to several friends of mine for weddings and family photos, and he always gets the shot while making the families feel at ease. You'll love his clear communication and speedy delivery.

Before I ever held a camera, as a kid I was obsessed with organizing and reorganizing printed family snapshots in albums. This infatuation with captured moments, led to picking out my first film camera, a 35mm Pentax, film developing and darkroom printing in high school, and then my BFA in Photography Degree. From there, I worked in varied sectors of photography, but my true passion lay in documentary work that could bring about awareness of challenging global situations. I have published and exhibited journalistic series internationally, notably at Oxford University and Aperture Foundation.

We loved having Jenny with us on our wedding day! Leading up to the big day she got to know us and had a questionnaire to help us communicate what we were looking for in our photos. She was such a pleasure to be around, and was really great at giving us direction. The prompts she gave us were really creative and we love the photos we have gotten so far! I would absolutely recommend her to any couple!

This allowed him to get all of our must-have pictures. Even though our day has passed, Alex continues to be extremely responsive. As my Instagram bio says, I'm a country girl by birth, a city girl by choice and a photographer by obsession. I grew up on a farm in a small Midwestern town, but have lived in New York City for over 25 years. As a photographer I say I'm self-taught, but in reality I've had the benefit of amazing mentors and teachers along the way who helped me elevate my work and pursue joy along with results. When not making photos or hanging out with my husband and kids, you can find me with a book in hand or listening to music while indulging my love of textiles at my sewing machine (yes, I really own a sewing machine)! Oh, or dancing! :-)

We loved having Amy photograph our wedding day! Her style of photography is completely different from traditional wedding photography. Amy's candid photography really captured the emotion of the day and we love the black and white prints! Amy worked so well with our other more traditional photographer. The shooting is so different that there was zero interference. We cherish our photos and highly recommend anyone getting married to consider hiring Amy to capture the day!

I can’t wait to see the full album of our photos, because so far they are the most beautiful wedding photos I’ve ever seen. You won’t regret working with James!

“Photography takes a moment out of life…and holds it still” A small collection of photographers who strive to capture the emotion and energy of life’s significant moments in a sophisticated yet understated light hearted way.

My husband and I cannot thank Hechler Photographers enough for everything. It was such a joy shooting with Julio for our engagement shoot in downtown Manhattan and our Rehearsal Dinner at the Union League Club in NYC, and we loved shooting with Julio, David, and John (the videographer) on our wedding day that took place on May 18, 2024 at the Metropolitan Club in NYC. From the moment we met David (recommended by our amazing planner, Jeff Stillwell of Stillwell Events), we knew it was a wonderful match. David is extremely professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and an amazing listener. When David referenced notes from our very first conversation a year and a half later (just a little under a month from our wedding), I was beyond impressed and truly touched. We greatly appreciate how David, Julio, and John were all able to quickly respond in the moment and pivot as needed, whether it was to ensure my hair could be touched up to stay perfectly in place or that we could have time to relax before key moments (e.g., the ceremony). As an incredibly detail-oriented bride, I am so grateful for all the attention to detail that was demonstrated from the beginning of our wedding day to the end of the evening. David, Julio, and John managed to strike the perfect balance of making their presence known, while blending in perfectly (one of my friends had commented that most photographers & videographers she had seen at weddings were so loud and even disruptive). Not this team!!!! I will also be forever grateful for all the encouragement and helpful tips and pointers/direction that David and Julio provided throughout Friday and Saturday to make sure that everyone looked and felt their best while remaining confident in being themselves. I still have Julio’s voice in my head saying, “Work it!” I am so grateful that David and Julio were able to capture all the photos and videos on my extensive shot list, and then some!! My husband, our families, and I cannot wait to see these photos and videos - if the engagement shoot photos are any indication of what's to come, these photos and videos are going to be absolutely magnificent. David, Arthur, Julio, and Casey, thank you for everything! It has been such a pleasure working with you all. This past weekend felt like heaven on earth, and I’m so glad we chose you all to capture these memories we will cherish forever and ever. -Nicole & Kyle May 18, 2024

In the 1950s & 60s, The Bronx was home to an amazing photographer that captured weddings and family events. His name? Warren Meurer aka the “Silverfox” (due to his flowing silver and gray locks). Fast forward to the early 1990s, Warren’s grandson, John Salkowsky, decided to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and open a wedding photography and video studio. When it came time to name this newly formed company, there was only ONE name it could possibly have – Silverfox Studios.

I have been working with Silver Fox Studios for more than 10 years. John and his team are professional, courteous, honorable and kind aside from being great photographers. It is a pleasure to work with the Silver Fox, they always go the extra mile for their clients and always work seamlessly with my team.

I have been a photographer for 21 years - it all started when my Mom gifted me my first camera to take on a trip. I shot 30 rolls of film, in a week, all in black & white. A decade later, I sat down to really think about what I wanted from life. At the time, I was playing professional soccer in Denmark, and knew that that experience had an expiration date. I wrote down what I love most - I LOVE people, travel, & photography. I hung up my cleats that very year and went full steam ahead into the most rewarding career I could have ever chosen. Photographing couples & their loved ones on the happiest day of their lives.

Leila was amazing to work with! She produced gorgeous photos, which we got back 2.5 weeks after our wedding. She also made us feel extremely comfortable on our wedding day!! Highly Recommend!!

A New York, NY wedding photographer ranges from $400 to $20,000 and averages at $3,000. The cost reflects the number of hours included, if there is a second photographer, any prints or albums, and, most importantly, the experience of the photographer. But every snapshot they take is a priceless memory of your big day — way better than your bestie's blurry smartphone pics, right?

What else should I keep in mind when booking a wedding photographer?

Are you interested in an engagement shoot as a test run? Drone photography? Wedding albums? All helpful things to ask about when you’re considering which wedding photographer to book!

What questions should I ask a wedding photographer in NYC?

It can be hard to know exactly what you should be looking for when you’re first exploring wedding photographers. You might want to ask questions like, "How do you capture the essence of 'us'?" or "How do you balance capturing our must have shot list without missing out on unexpected candid moments?" Don't forget the nitty-gritty, either. Inquire about their portfolio, if they've shot at your venue before, and how they navigate New York City’s unpredictable elements (because who hasn't seen a taxi photobomb?). Check out our full list of questions to ask your wedding photographer for even more info.

How long does it take to receive wedding photos in NYC?

Picture this: you've said your vows, had the time of your life at the reception, and now you're back from your honeymoon, eager to relive it all through your photos. But you might need to wait a minute, because good things take time! Most NYC wedding photographers will ask for a 4 to 8-week grace period to finalize your photos. They're carefully sifting through the raw emotions and dance-floor shenanigans to deliver a gallery that's as epic as your love story. We know how eager you are to relive those moments, but your stunning snaps will be worth the wait.

How many images are typically included in a wedding photo package?

Wedding photo packages in NYC are as varied as the city itself, but on average, you might see anything from 300 to 700 finished photos. But hey, it’s not just about quantity, it’s the heart-stopping, tear-jerking quality that counts. Make sure to chat with your photographer about what's important to you – maybe it's those candid laughs during the toast or that magical first dance. So, whether you’re aiming for a minimalist album or an epic visual novella of your day, rest assured you'll have enough photos to keep your memories fresh and your heart full!

Are engagement sessions typically included in wedding photography packages in New York City?

Looking for a photographer to capture the excitement of your engagement, too? Look no further. Many New York wedding photographers bundle engagement photo sessionsinto your wedding package, or will add them on at a reduced rate. It's like a romantic pre-game show where you and your SO can get over some of the camera-shyness. Plus, it's a fantastic way to test the waters with your photographer before the big day so you can make sure they’re a perfect fit (and to capture some great shots for your save the dates!).
