In the summer of 2013, Cici’s Cafe sat alongside Ventura Boulevard, adjacent to a shop that traded nostalgia with old records and CD’s. Paired together inside the cafe were two people and two plates: eggs benedict nestled on top of a pesto portobello mushroom, and a much sweeter stack of pancakes topped with bananas and peanut butter. The debates on the dichotomous pancake/ portobello, Pink Floyd/ observational comedians began.

With much more brunch, musical discovery, and silly inside jokes, we taught each other a lot about everything extraordinary and lots of the mundane, sharing many telepathic smirks and laughs. After six years of adventuring across different coasts, we are tying the knot! ......................................................... Every October, we seek out the most peculiar set of pumpkins and scoop up a pack of Target carving tools. One year, Russ was very protective of his creative design and wouldn’t let Sharilyn peek the entire night. After mischievously chipping under the guise of a corgi cutout, Russ paused the episode of Stranger Things in the background, and finally revealed the true carving "Marry Me?" -- creating the loudest gleeful screams known to Samwell.
