It started with a funky fringe jacket. Keirstyn spotted Steve breaking it down senior year at Rutgers and just knew — while Steve was drawn in by her creativity and spark. They became fast friends through their mutual crew, and after graduation, reconnected as best friends figuring out life side by side, spending a summer between Spring Lake and adventures in New York City. When Steve relocated to Washington, DC, they both felt it: this was always meant to be more than friendship. Once it started, it was forever. They did long distance for a few months, Keirstyn in Brooklyn, Steve in DC, before landing, of all places, in Keirstyn's mom's basement during 2020. (She wasn't about to let him ride it out alone.) A few months later, they made their way back to Brooklyn together, dancing their way through NYC & Jersey Shore summers, building a life with friends. After a few years, they craved something new, so they packed up for a 9-month road trip with no real end point, visiting friends, family, and adventuring across the country. Their last planned stop was San Diego, a city neither of them had ever set foot in, but a state that always drew Keirstyn in. But it was Steve who made the first move to make it their new home. Three more cross-country trips later, they finally settled in San Diego for good. Meeting incredible new friends and joined by some old friends and family who moved to be closer. Now they spend their days on the beach and exploring the West Coast with their pup, Sunny, by their side. What they love most about each other is their shared spontaneity, appetite for more, drive to build something meaningful, and how deeply they care for the people they love.
