In December of 2018, Kennedy was convinced to join Hinge, a dating app. Her friend and now bridesmaid, Somi, was dating her now husband. Kennedy joined and within 24 hours, she had found Jermaine's profile and thought "He is way too good looking to not message him." Jermaine responded complimenting her on her eyebrows and love for avocados. They exchanged numbers almost immediately and set up a FaceTime date for a few days later. After talking for several hours they agreed to meet in person on Christmas Eve at a family friends' party. They met at a Starbucks first to ease Kennedy's nerves of meeting a stranger on the internet, then went to the party together. From the moment they both arrived, it felt like a lifetime had already passed with one another. Jermaine interacted flawlessly with all of Kennedy's family and friends as if they all knew each other. He even met her mom on their first date! They ended the night by talking for 2 hours in his car. We had a lot of serious and important conversations that don't normally happen until a few months into the relationship. 5 days later we met for our second date. At that point, we had already agreed we would delete our dating app and continue to only pursue each other without being official. During the course of our meal, Jermaine looked over at me and said "Is there anything else I should know now?" To which I responded "Know now what?" Jermaine said "Now that you are my girlfriend." And clearly the rest is history :) We got engaged in March 20' and originally planned for a wedding in April of 21'. During the course of COVID-19, we have had a lot of conversations about what is really important to us as a couple and how we wanted our love to be celebrated. So that led to us deciding to get married in August of 20' with just our wedding parties and immediate family in an intimate backyard ceremony. We know that one day when COVID has come and gone we will be able to celebrate with all friends and family.
