A note, from us...

Dear family and friends, We hope you and yours are healthy and safe during this time, and we appreciate all the love and support we’ve received from each of you since we postponed our original date last October. Although the COVID-19 crisis has created much uncertainty, as of now, we will be proceeding with our wedding on September 11, 2021. We understand that the situation is in constant flux, but based on the current CDC guidelines, as well as the current state guidelines in Wisconsin, we feel that by this fall it will be safer to gather and celebrate. We will keep you informed if that should change, however, so please continue to check our website for updates. Please know that the comfortability and safety of our guests is our priority and utmost concern. The last thing we want is for our family and friends to feel as though we haven't put enough thoughtful consideration into this decision. We've been in consistent communication with our venue, who continues to encourage us that we're all set to gather and celebrate safely, especially as vaccines continue to roll out. Please feel free to reach out to us directly with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we cannot wait to be together with you in person again! Love, Alex and Sammy

HOW WE MET

We met in second grade—during a "meet your teacher" kind of day where your parents take you to school so you can see your classroom, meet your teacher, and bring your school supplies to your desk. We were seated right next to each other (and on every first day of school each year, for the rest of elementary school), and I vividly remember seeing Sammy walk up to our clump of desks wearing a sweater vest (to a not even real day of school!) and wire-rimmed glasses, carrying a paper grocery bag full of his supplies. I was hooked.—Alex I'd love to talk about how we met but I don't vividly remember that day. Because we were five... But I do remember all our playdates, and the fact that I always looked for you at Orbit for "couple's skate," how I was forced to watch your dance routines at recess. I remember one summer, man...I came over and had chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese and I was in.—Sammy

THE PROPOSAL

10.5.18

We got engaged in Paris, France, and it was a dream come true (especially for a certain one of us). Our "quick weekend trip" turned into pure magic. We got engaged at Cafe de l'Homme, a restaurant that overlooks the pavilion in front of the Eiffel Tower. We spent the rest of the trip wandering the streets of Paris, celebrating our engagement—just us two.
