Feedwell Kitchen & Bakery is a dream realized through the friendship of chefs Melanie Abu-Nameh and Holly Ervin. Like many friendships, theirs began with margaritas–well, a margarita tennis event where Melanie probably had a vodka soda and Holly a gin and tonic. But, nonetheless, they discovered similar passions for family, friends, travel, and FOOD! This is where “Kitchen”(Chef Mel) met “Bakery” (Chef Holly).

Hello! My name is Allie and I’m the sole owner of The Hangry Lady. I have a 2 year A.S Degree towards dietetics and a Culinary Degree from Kirkwood Community College. After graduating I went on to be Chef de Cuisine at Caucho for 2 years, during this time I was named one of the ‘40 women to watch’ by the Iowa Restaurant Association. I then went on to be Executive Chef at Popoli for almost 1 year before closing due to Covid. This is when I decided to take a chance on myself and opened up the business I had always dreamed of. She’s an old soul with a heart for gardening, reading, music, dancing, animals, and, when it’s safe again, putting her passport back in the rotation. She holds a degree in Hotel & Restaurant business management, was the Private Dining & Event Manager at The Edgewater Hotel from 2016-to 2018, and is a member of the Beta Beta Psi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. China Moon is an eager reader (and dotes on Stephen King and Dean Koontz novels.) She loves aged Brugal Rum on the rocks with lime.
