I wish I had my parents' wedding day captured on film. I would have loved to see how they interacted with each other on the day they celebrated their union. How nervous with excitement they were when they spoke their vows; how they arrived to the church; the look on my grandfather's face as he walked my mother down the aisle. ​ Moments such as these are valuable family histories because as generations move along, memories of past events evaporate. This is why wedding films are important and why I love creating them.

The three words that I'd use to describe myself are personable, intentional, and genuine. I truly love what I do, and I treat my work as if it is an extension of me. I've been a full time wedding filmmaker since 2016 – starting out as an intern for a wedding studio based in NYC to running my own studio today. Hello Intellects, I am Edwin Velasquez I am a wedding photographer and cinematographer in Tampa, Fl. When I am not capturing a wedding, you can find me playing tag with my two little girls around the kitchen island.

I have worked in the photography and video field for almost 10 years, 5 of which I have operated under my own business. In the last two years my company 5Cents Media has been awarded Best of Fast.com for 2020 and 2021 for Photography and Video. I have also been awarded Couples Choice for 2021 for Photography and Video.

My name is Mitchell Gaston, and I love telling stories. I began my filmmaking journey all the way back in middle school (which is further back than I care to admit), making silly videos with my friends. Somewhere along the line I got a chance to film a wedding, and I haven't looked back since. Meeting amazing couples and getting to tell their stories is, and continues to be, a dream come true.

DewyFilms sprouted from a youtube channel for silly videos into what it is today. My dad called me Dewy when I was little, so I figured I'd lean into that and make it something big!

i grew up in europe and from early on used my father's rolleiflex and super 8 cameras. to me, old photographs evoke a sense of nostalgia, which inspired me to tell stories a bit abstract and ephemeral like reveries. my films are more like vignettes, moments in time that provide a glimpse of what it felt like on your day. which i think helps convey an essence about who you are and what the experience was like.
