My best friend Rose was planning her wedding and asked if I would arrange the flowers. I absolutely loved being creative and being part of her special day. The next week I enrolled in Flower School and after I finished my studies I started The Gathering florist and haven’t looked back! Colour is a big part of our inspiration. The first question I ask my clients is what colours they love and what colour they would like featured on their day. We are now entering the winter months so we are loving working with autumn tones, think deep crimson, pink and reds. Every season inspires us with different colours to work with.

Years ago, I read this poem by Mary Oliver. No longer inspired by my tech start-up desk job, I thought to myself, ‘what is it I would like to spend my life doing?’. I turned to the first job I ever had in high school, being a florist, and began Wild. Over the years, I have discovered such meaning in creating with my hands. My lush, romantic, organic aesthetic is inspired by the natural world; the untamed and ephemeral beauty of flowers. In each of my designs, I look to reflect on the unique allure of the seasons by combining the traditional and more the uncommon together. I’m coffee obsessed, currently binge-watching something on Netflix or listening to Maximum Fun Network podcasts while working. I think that getting to work with fresh flowers, from down the road or all over the world, then arranging them into something stunning for customers that will see them and feel emotionally inspired by is a wonderful way to spend my time working in this world. After beginning a career in the home interiors industry in NYC, I found myself longing for a creative outlet! I began taking a few floral design courses to keep myself sane and fell in love! After 7 years in the city, I decided it was time for a break and moved back upstate to the Adirondacks. Here I began working at my family's business, Tromblee's Greenhouse, furthering my love for flowers. As customers began to ask for floral arrangements an organic business outlet was created. Blee's is a nod to the business that grew my love for flowers, my connection to a community, and a family that welcomed me.

Born and Raised with family in the greenhouse & flower shop trade, I started my company when I was 25 after working in New York City doing large events and installs. Loving my rural roots and the ability to grow, I settled down in central Ohio on a 17 acre farm where I grow many unique specimen of floral & fruit.

I live in Wahpeton, with my bearded husband, Jesse; two dogs, Ruxin, Penny, and three cats, Dottie, Kit, & Lewis affectionately known as Poopis. I rarely brush my hair, and it is almost always in a ponytail or a bun, and probably a different color than the last time you saw me.

Her journey started at the age of six years old, Melissa-May was surrounded by all aspects of creativity. Her ability to visualize things, put them onto paper and create anything from scratch was also apparent at a young age when she completed an illustration of her dream house, then constructed an entire floor plan and a model house made out of popsicle sticks. Furthermore, at the age of 12, her friend’s mother noticed Melissa-May’s gift of artistry and requested that she create cartoon place cards for her daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. She later was asked to create the invitations and centerpieces for her best friend’s Debutant ball.
