Our wedding went off without a hitch, thanks to Jill and Ken (the owners) and the staff's top-notch service and professionalism. Many of the guests said it was the best wedding food they ever had. The team over there has meticulous attention to detail and works like a well-oiled machine to make sure everything happens at the right time, exactly as you want it. Our wedding day could not have been more perfect. It's also a very beautiful and unique venue, and everything is very reasonably priced and all the costs are transparent. Let us turn your wedding dreams into cherished memories at Bryant Park Grill.

We recently were married on the spectacular roof of the Bryant Park Grill, had an amazing cocktail hour (also on the roof) and a dance-tastic reception in the beautiful, quintessential New York restaurant. Although what I have heard the most from our guests is how incredible the food was, that comment is closely followed by how much fun people had at our wedding. We were in great hands from start to finish at The Bryant Park Grill. The staff was incredibly accommodating and I think may have cheered the loudest when the groom and I channeled our Saturday Night Fever Vibes much to the surprise of our guests. We are grateful to the entire staff but especially Kristi who handled everything along the way and Diane who was amazing keeping everything running smoothly on the day of (and kept me laughing). My only regret is not taking the time to actually eat at our wedding but that's also a great excuse to go back for dinner sooner, than later.

The Skylark

5.0

New York, NY
  • Up to 80 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $20,000

The Skylark is a unique rooftop wedding venue located in New York, New York boasting stunning views of the Empire State Building, Times Square, and the Hudson River. This venue gives a year-round rooftop experience, ideal for couples who want a winter wedding without compromising stunning New York views. The Skylark features full-length sliding glass doors and a seasonal open-air terrace. This stunning venue provides couples with traditional celebrations for parties of all sizes. From start to finish, their experienced event coordinator and staff will ensure everything from vendors to decorations is flawlessly executed. Couples can feel confident in receiving impeccable customer service, delicious dinners, and a structured, stress-free planning process when booking The Skylark. The Skylark can accommodate up to 80 guests for a seated dinner and dance floor, and up to 150 for a standing cocktail reception with the option to host your ceremony on site.

Skylark was the best possible venue we could have booked for our wedding reception, full stop. Throughout the booking process, they were always highly responsive and professional. They invited us back for drink tastings, for catering option tastings, and even once got my now-wife and her two friends a table on a crowded Saturday night without a reservation. All in all, the venue itself is amazing. We lucked out and got the rooftop for our cocktail hour which we extended an extra 45m 'til sunset and our guests loved taking photos. The main dance area / bar of Skylark is fashionable, chic, and has a certain vibe that meshed perfectly with what my wife and I were looking for. They also have excellent side-rooms for the wedding party to take a moment to decompress in a cool leather-bound corner apartment with its own bar, bathroom, and changing area. The were a few things that really caught my attention as we were touring for the first time: the downstairs entrance is dark, moody, and intentionally a bit industrial which really helps set a New York vibe. Upstairs, I noticed our tour guide thought the music was a touch too loud in one of the side-rooms, so he immediately tweaked the volume down a notch on their iPad music controls. The drinks were excellent (we opted for the Cherry Blossom Old Fashioned and the French 75 for our wedding cocktails). We also came back to sample the food options (we went for a cocktail-style dinner with phased courses throughout the night), & they were all incredibly delicious thanks to Skylark's partnership with Abigail Kirsch. Lastly, our coordinator was Phil Montana and he is one of the best parts of our experience. He has exceptional attention to detail, coordination skills, and a warm & empathetic personality. I would also like to recognize the staff who were all wonderful in taking care of us & our guests throughout the night. If you are on the fence, I would highly suggest a tour. When we booked, Skylark did not have a ton of reviews either on Zola or on The Knot, so this review is my way of encouraging any readers to give it a shot -- if you are looking for a fashionable, chic New York wedding experience, The Skylark really cannot be beat. I'm looking forward to returning periodically as regular customers as well!

We hosted our intimate wedding reception(20 people) here in September. The vibe, drinks & food were all amazing! Stuff: We really appreciated that the event team was very responsive and flexible and super nice! They pleasantly accommodated all of our super last minute changes. There were some unexpected incidents (the cake from our bakery didn't arrive on time), but the event team was very thoughtful and helped us to still make our day special, which meant so much to us! Food & Drinks: Highly recommend adding the restaurant's speciality cocktails to the open bar if you are hosting a party, all of the guests loved them, especially the cappuccino martini. Everyone loved meatballs! The food portion is quite big, you wouldn't have to worry about not feeding your guests enough.

When is the best month for a wedding in New York City?

This is one of those questions that everyone will have a different answer to. The best time to get married in NYC really depends on your vision for your wedding. Is it when Central Park is a wonderland of cherry blossoms, or when the holiday lights make everything twinkle like a rom-com set? Weather-wise, May and June are your best bets for an outdoor wedding. But if you’re dreaming of an "Autumn in New York" aesthetic, aim for September or October when the air is crisp, and your guests won’t be sweating. But let's keep it real – in the city that never sleeps, love doesn't have an off-season, and neither do fabulous weddings. Winter nuptials? You could end up with a magical snowy vibe, and you’ll probably save some money. So ultimately, you can’t go wrong.

How far in advance do I need to book a wedding venue in New York City?

In the fast-paced whirlwind that is NYC, wedding venues can be booked up pretty far in advance. It's a good rule of thumb to start your venue hunt as soon as your engagement bliss begins to settle—usually around 12 to 18 months in advance, and to actually book your venue closer to 9-14 months in advance. If you've set your heart on those prime dates or sought-after spots, earlier is definitely better. Think of it as your very own New York minute—the sooner you act, the more options you'll have. But if you're the spontaneous type or planning on a shorter engagement, don't fret!
