When Emily transferred to Texas State University her junior year, she attended a welcome week event called Barn Bash. That evening, Will introduced himself with a comment Emily would never forget: “You look exactly like your brother.” Emily politely laughed and replied, “Thanks,” never imagining that this unexpected introduction would be the beginning of their story. Over the next several months, Emily and Will grew closer through their Catholic organization. They spent countless hours together navigating college life, attending events, and making memories with friends around the San Marcos square. By the spring, Emily realized her feelings for Will had changed. Then, on April 21, 2024, after a late-night Sonic drink run, Will asked Emily to be his girlfriend. From that day forward, life became one adventure after another. Together, they celebrated graduating from Texas State, spent weekends by the pool, traveled to new places, and made countless memories with their family and friends. Through it all, they learned what it means to build a life rooted in faith, love, and laughter. On June 5, 2026, beneath a beautiful old oak tree on Will's grandparents’ land in Flatonia, Will got down on one knee and asked Emily to spend forever with him. In a place already filled with family history, they began a new chapter of their own. They were both overflowing with joy, soaking in the realization that they would get to spend the rest of their lives together. That day under the oak tree has become one of their favorite memories, a moment they will always hold close to their hearts. Looking back, Emily and Will are overwhelmed by God’s faithfulness and the many ways He led them to one another at exactly the right time. They are incredibly grateful for the love, encouragement, and prayers of the family and friends who have supported them throughout their journey. As they prepare to say “I do,” Emily and Will cannot wait to celebrate with the people who have loved them every step of the way. They are so excited to begin this next chapter together and to see all that God has in store for their future.
