Like so many modern love stories, Dalton and Caitie's started with a swipe right. It was the very beginning of the pandemic, when FaceTime dates were suddenly all the rage. Dalton suggested one, but Caitie (an outspoken FaceTime hater) countered with a phone call instead. On the night of their "date," Caitie ended up being a couple of hours late after what was supposed to be a quick macaroni and cheese porch pickup turned into a socially distanced front-yard chat. Thankfully, Dalton didn't mind waiting. Once they finally got on the phone, they talked for hours about everything under the sun. By the time they hung up, they both knew there was something special. In the middle of a world that felt uncertain, they quickly became each other's safe place. When they finally met in person, they celebrated with the most romantic first date 2020 had to offer: Taco Bell.
