Elizabeth and Kevin first met at Miami University in Ohio, running in overlapping circles and occasionally crossing paths, most memorably on the Brick Street Bar patio. They even exchanged numbers, but the timing wasn't quite right just yet. Fast forward a few years: a weekend with mutual friends in Washington, D.C. put them back in the same place at the same time. This time, everything clicked. What started as an easy reconnection quickly turned into something more, leading to a year of long-distance between Chicago and D.C. They navigated the miles with FaceTimes, a two-person book club, and visits that always felt too short, until Kevin finally made the move east. Their next two years in D.C. were filled with museums and biking, countless nights out with friends, and travels near and far. Then they traded the city bustle for a neighborhood in Alexandria, Virginia, that felt just right. As Kevin took up gardening and Elizabeth found her way back to art through pottery, Alexandria quickly became home. In 2025, a trip to Charlottesville to see one of their favorite country artists ended with a proposal on a trail overlooking the water. It felt like the right place to begin the next chapter. We are so excited to bring our story full circle and celebrate with you all in August!
