During their freshman year in 2014, Melissa and David were partnered with each other in Spanish class. Melissa had a huge crush on David and would even write about him in her dairy. David also had feelings for Melissa, but they never told one another. Melissa then left Rancho Mirage High School in 2017 and David wondered where she went. He tried to reach out to her on social media, but he couldn’t find her. Then in September of 2020, Melissa had recently moved back into town and driving around with a friend. As she was looking out the window she caught a glimpse of David standing outside a local store. She told her friend to turn around and pull over immediately, as though the universe was pulling her towards him. As she walked in, he recognized her instantly and said “I was just thinking about you.” They were inseparable after that. On October 13th of 2020, David asked Melissa to be his girlfriend and they quickly fell in love. 3 years later, he had an important question to ask Melissa’s father. David asked him for his daughter’s hand in marriage. Her father gave David his blessing and the whole family waited with anticipation. Then in 2024, on the day of their anniversary, David and Melissa had set sail on the California Spirit in San Diego. They spent a beautiful afternoon out at sea and Melissa had no idea that something incredible was about to happen. While she went downstairs to get them some more champagne, David began setting up for a surprise on the deck. When she came back up she saw him standing nervously, he had something he wanted to say. He told her that the past 4 years they spent together had been the best years of his life and that she had made him a better man. He told her that he had found his soulmate and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He then got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes of course! They have now been engaged for 2 years and will be married on December 26th of 2026. Where they will live happily ever after.
