We often go back and forth on the exact moment we actually met and became friends, but shortly after that we began to spend more time together. We went to various group activities where we would talk, play sports, or compete at the occasional game night. As one year came to an end, walking through the cold winter air under Christmas lights, crushes were developed. After another year of hot air balloon festivals, camel races, hikes, and dating, our love kept blossoming. While attending festivals, fairs, trying different foods, mini golf battles, a few knee surgeries, concerts, and seeing new parts of the world, we fell in love. One afternoon, after the Slice of Chico event, we wandered through Bidwell Park. Pausing to take some pictures of the beautiful scenery, Zack knelt down to propose on July 13th. So many of our friends and family were excited asking us when we planned to have a wedding and reception. After much discussion and consideration, we opted to run off and do our own thing with just the two of us. On August 16th, we eloped to the Redlands, CA temple! Although we would have loved to celebrate with all the many special people in our lives, our elopement was a sacred personal experience for us as a newly married couple.
