March of 2015 Haley lived in Natchitoches, LA and made plans with two friends to spend the weekend in New Orleans. Chris lived in Oxnard, CA and was attending his best friend’s birthday celebration also in New Orleans. By chance and fate, they both found themselves to be the less-than-a-handful of straight singles in a gay bar on Bourbon Street. Chris’ friend pulled him to Haley’s group and put them right next to each other and said “You two would make such a cute couple, let me take your picture!” And so before we even introduced ourselves, a picture was taken. “Now give him a kiss!” “Hey, I’m Chris and I’m visiting from California.” “I’m Haley and I’m going to live there someday” By August of 2016 Haley sold her home in Louisiana and moved to Ventura County with Chris. November of 2019 Chris asked for her father’s and grandmother’s blessing to wed while they were visiting Ventura for Thanksgiving — just before the pandemic. September of 2020 after some pandemic restrictions were lifted, Chris took Haley on a romantic getaway weekend to Palm Springs, one of their favorite places to vacation, and he proposed.
Embracing a private elopement, we already cherished the moment. Your understanding is deeply appreciated as we said our vows in a more intimate setting.
We hope to be able to host a celebration of love and friendship in the future!
We thoroughly enjoyed ourself in Tokyo, Japan in January for our honeymoon shortly after our wedding day. Highly recommend and it’s now one of our favorite places we’ve visited!
Eloped happily and finally! We're registered below, but your warm wishes are all we desire. No obligation for gifts; your understanding and joy are our true treasures. Thank you for celebrating with us from afar!
