Jake and Mackie met at Mackie's little sister, Grayson's, 21st birthday party at the Capstone pool in Lubbock, Texas. All of their friends were hanging around, but neither Mackie nor Jake, had ever met one another even though they unknowingly had the same friend group. Mackie decided to go talk to her friend Conner when she noticed Jake standing there with him. She asked Conner who he was; then she introduced herself. After hours of talking at the pool, one thing lead to another and they were roadtripping together to Zion National Park a month later. A week after they got back from Utah, Mackie moved 23 hours away to Miami, Fl for a job she had already agreed to. Throughout the entire summer, Jake flew back and forth numerous times, sometimes in the same week, to Miami just to see and hang out with her. He didn't know how any of this was going to work out with living in two different states, but he decided to take a chance and asked Mackie to be his girlfriend on August 4, 2021. It wasn't long until Mackie realized her life wasn't meant to be spent in Miami any longer. At the end of September that year Jake bought a one-way ticket to Miami and drove Mackie and Moose along with her little uHaul of items 23 hours back home in her little two door Jeep. From Miami to Lubbock to Carlsbad and Lewisville... 3 years later, and they're about to start their new adventure neither one thought was possible!
