Unless you enjoy the watching goats cross the road or a herd of cows walking home, Antigua's wildlife is not that exciting. Top animal encounters are at Stingray City and Lavinscourt Island where you can pet the giant tortoises. Pig’s Paradise brings their little piglets to Seaforth Beach where you have a chance to swim with the pigs and bottle feed them their milk.
If you’re looking for a break from the beaches, Devil’s Bridge is good a place to sit and watch the Atlantic Ocean crashing in on the natural limestone Arch. Antigua has a sister Island, Barbuda, where you can take a ferry and visit Nobu Barbuda or Princess Diana beach to see the pink sands for the day. These tours are to be made in advance and are not recommended for people who suffer from motion sickness. If you'd like to escape the crowds and beaches, Prickly Pear is a private Island off of Hodges Bay. This would also need to be booked in advance with Hodges Bay Resort. If you're looking for a real experience, Calvin Air has helicopter tours around Antigua and to it's Montserrat’s active volcano! 10/10 would recommend.
To mirror the dreamy skies during our poolside sunset wedding, we ask guests to wear gradient of pink tones, ranging from blush to deeper rose, and soft peach + orange hues. The wedding colors in varying shades of peach and pink, take on a warm, golden glow, enhancing the romantic atmosphere. See the color palette in the "gallery" tab.
There are several options on how to travel. Resorts and hotels can provide your taxi services. You can rent a car at the airport, but remember- Antiguans drive on the left side of the road (I do not recommend for guests). A temporary drivers license is given. Taxis are also an option. Here are a few to call: L S Group Taxi- +1-268-723-5290 Linden Antigua Taxi- +1-268-464-1199 Cesar Antigua Taxi- +1 268-728-0847 Yanique Antigua Taxi- +1-268-770-6414
Check out the "things to do" tab for a list of activities during your visit.
Daily high temperatures are around 86°F, rarely falling below 83°F or exceeding 89°F. Think hot and humid. It may be cool at night, especially near beaches.
It will be tropically hot, so pack light and airy clothes, sandals and plenty of swim wear. DO NOT wear camouflage in Antigua, especially at the airport. You will get a visit from the Antiguan Security Officers.
Antigua is a tropical island and the mosquitoes are strong, especially at night. It's smart to pack repellent, but Antigua stores have repellent cream called "Odomos" that works wonders for the entire day. The days are hot, so be sure you have plenty of hats and personal fans to keep cool. Also, please protect your skin with adequate sunscreen.
International rates will apply once you land on island. Please check with your provider and make plans for an international data plan to avoid a surprise bill. What’s App is an international texting app that everyone on island uses. Wifi is available in most restaurants.
The currency in Antigua and Barbuda is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (XCD) more locally called “EC”. Most things will be priced in EC, and some such as tours and accommodation will also be advertised in US dollars. You can use US dollars in Antigua and Barbuda. If you do, then your change will be given to you in EC. ATMs are available on island and are compatible with major US banks. Visa/Mastercard are accepted at some restaurants. Please do not rely on Apple Pay, cash app, etc.
