Our Story

"And isn't it just so pretty to think that all along there was some invisible string tying you to me?"

Kyle and Kelly met back in 2012 at their small-town high school in Healdsburg, California. Kyle was a junior, and Kelly was a senior, both taking a class dedicated to helping a nearby public elementary school. They were assigned the same third-grade classroom to serve and walked to the school together each day as Kyle sang "Meet Me Halfway" by the Black Eyed Peas to Kelly alongside some friends. Despite their crushes, the two never mustered up enough courage to tell each other or pursue anything more. When the school year came to an end, Kelly left to attend college at The University of Alabama. Though the two remained in touch here and there, they did not see each other again until the following spring when Kelly attended Kyle's high school graduation. They only saw each other one more time before Kelly went back to Alabama and Kyle left for Washington. Though, Kyle admitted that he had secretly hoped all summer that he would run into Kelly in town. A year later, Kelly learned that Kyle was joining the United States Navy when he reached out and asked her to be a character reference for him. They lost touch after that for six years. Kelly went on to graduate from UA and pursue a job as an elementary school teacher, while Kyle served and earned numerous recognitions for his work as a Navy Hospital Corpsman. Then, on January 10th, 2022, Kyle and Kelly reconnected on Snapchat when Kyle decided to message her about the Crimson Tide losing the National Championship (roll tide anyway). The two messaged back and forth all night, and Kyle was surprised to see that Kelly had continued the conversation the next day. Kyle and Kelly haven't stopped talking since. At the time, Kyle was in Texas and Kelly was still in Alabama. It took about a month of nonstop talking before they decided to try a long-distance relationship. They thought that maybe this was finally their time. A few months later, Kyle flew out to visit Kelly for a long weekend that turned into a week before he had to leave. Then about two weeks later, Kyle drove nine hours back to Alabama where he stayed with Kelly for the summer before officially moving in together. The two got engaged the following year in May of 2023 and could not be happier to start their life together.

Travel

Savannah offers many accommodation options at varying price points. You will find hotels and bed and breakfasts/inns in the downtown/riverfront and historic district. There are also slightly more affordable hotel options outside of the downtown area of Savannah near the airport and city of Pooler. We don’t know enough about the area to make personal recommendations, so when referring to the Google Doc below, please do your own research on TripAdvisor or a similar travel site as well for updated reviews. Savannah is a popular tourist and wedding destination, so things tend to get booked far in advance. Another option is to rent a condo or house through Airbnb, VRBO, or another local home rental company. Many of these rental options include a private parking space or non-metered street parking.

FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kelly Feith and Kyle Prasad
If you have any questions that are not addressed below, please feel free to reach out to us and ask!
Question

Is the wedding outside?

Answer

Yes, but there is a rain plan just in case for our ceremony space! If it looks like it is going to storm, we will move to a different location on site that is covered. The current ceremony space does have turf though, so should it rain prior to the ceremony, it will not be muddy and we will be able to proceed as planned. Dinner will take place in the Open Air Pavilion which has AC, and the party will take place in the Grand Veranda which are both covered spaces. Guests will also have access throughout the entirety of the wedding to various rooms within the Mackey's estate to cool off and relax. Restrooms that are ADA accessible can also be found throughout the property.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive no later than 5:15 p.m. to ensure that everyone is seated before our ceremony begins. There will be refreshments provided as you arrive, and there is ample free parking right next to the ceremony space.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

When deciding on what to wear, keep in mind that it will be June in Savannah, so it is typically hot and humid! We are going for a garden party aesthetic.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We ask that you do not bring a date unless your invitation explicitly states that you have a plus one.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes, kids are welcome! However, please keep in mind that there will be alcohol, and the reception will have music playing that may not be appropriate for young children. We have the entire venue for the night though, so there are plenty of spaces to escape to for a break from the party if needed.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please contact us as soon as possible if you have a food allergy so we can contact our caterer. Dinner will be served via stations and buffet, so you may pick and choose the foods you prefer. There will also be some gluten-free food options. Please let us know if you will need this accommodation so we can ensure we have enough.
