Little did we know, amidst a global pandemic, that the best thing would happen in both of our lives. Eric and I matched on Bumble after both swiping right. I had reached my limit with online dating and was very much over it! I didn't message quickly enough and was on the verge of disappearing from Eric's matches forever. However, Eric had a 24-hour extension, and he chose to use it. I am so glad he did! Our first date was at sushi and while we didn't leave head over heels, we decided to go for a second date. Eric might claim that I stood him up for the second date, but that's a story for another day! Date 2 featured Chef Eric's homemade Penne Alla Vodka (my favorite) and plenty of Sauvignon Blanc. Although it may not have been love at first sight, it was undoubtedly love at first bite! Eric had seemed too good to be true, but he continued to show just how amazing he is. Before we knew it, a love that I never knew existed became a reality!

Eric and I were so excited to be visiting our friends, Nicole and Matt, in beautiful Colorado, just before my work event was set to begin. Our adventure started on Thursday morning when we touched down, eager to make the most of our time together. Little did I know that this trip would turn into the most amazing day of my life. Nicole and I had some much-needed girl time, getting ready for what she said would be a nice dinner. With my suitcase full of outfits, she helped me choose the perfect one! As we were getting ready to leave, Nicole mentioned that we would be driving through Red Rocks. I was slightly concerned about walking in heels through the amphitheater, but she and Matt told us that we could only drive through since there was a concert scheduled for the night. I didn't suspect a thing. On the way to Red Rocks, there was a light drizzle, but just as we reached the park, the rain stopped. We pulled over to take some photos at the most picturesque spot, with not a soul in sight. Eric and I were in awe of the breathtaking view, and little did I know that this moment would become the highlight of my life. Standing there, Eric began expressing his love for me, sharing how I've made him a better man. But with Eric always showing his affection, I remained clueless. We cherished the moment together, and then l started to feel him tremble with emotion. Suddenly, I realized what was happening, and while there was a mix of "stop," "shut up," and tears of sheer happiness, he asked me to make him the happiest man alive. Without a moment's hesitation, I screamed, "YES! I've been waiting for this forever!" The dream I had cherished in my heart surpassed all my expectations. We celebrated our engagement while popping bottles of Champagne. As we left the spot to continue our night, a hailstorm unexpectedly began. I couldn't help but think it was my mom's tears of happiness falling from heaven. To add to the surprises, when we went for a pre-dinner drink, Justine was waiting there for me! The thoughtful and detailed surprises kept coming, leaving no doubt that this weekend was one for the books. Our love story had just taken an incredible turn, and I know this new chapter will be the best one yet. This is our love story and baby, "I said YES!"
