On September 7th, 2023, on Lake Arrow in Nakusp, British Columbia, we said I Do. It was a slow, cold morning. We woke up to views of the foggy mountains across the lake, excited for the day ahead. Eric drew a bath while Sunny put breakfast in the oven. We sipped on our morning coffee together in the tub with panoramic views of the property we were staying at for the weekend. We ate breakfast outside by the fire and cuddled with Jameson. We were in no rush to get ready because we had all day to be with each other. We planned on getting married at no particular time in the day, just whenever the weather felt the nicest. We each finished writing our vows and hung around outside for the rest of the morning. Eric chopped wood and heated up the outdoor tub and we soaked again, mimosas in hand. When it felt right, we sat facing one another on the couch on the lawn, and read our written vows to each other. This moment in the day was the most important to us. We would hold an officiated ceremony later in the day, but wanted to read these personal promises in private. It was both funny and beautiful to hear the similarities in our love letters. We each recognized and loved the same qualities about our relationship, and had the same goals looking forward, which solidified getting married even more. Our friend from college, Jess D, and her husband are ordained elopement photographers. They came all the way up to Canada from Colorado to document our most special day. By around two in the afternoon, they arrived and we were both pretty much ready with the exception of getting dressed. It was such a fun experience to be able to just be ourselves and go about our day as we would have if had we been completely alone, but have a dear friend there to document it all. After a while Jess asked "So, ya'll want to do this or what?!" to which we both said "Hell yeah!!". We opted for the newly traditional First Look, before the ceremony. After seeing each other for the first time looking like a Bride and Groom, we walked hand in hand to under the Weeping Willow that Sunny picked out as our spot, and said our I Dos. Jess held a short and sweet 10 minute ceremony for us. We kept treats in Eric's pocket so Jameson would stay with us. It worked. We signed our marriage license, Jameson as our legal witness, and popped a bottle of champagne to toast the moment. The rest of the evening was spent just hanging out, just like we like to do, and it was perfect.

A message to our favorite people, We want to express our gratitude for your presence, which means the world to us. However, we'd like to let you in on a little secret – we already got married! And this will not be your typical wedding reception. Instead, we opted for one big dance party! There won't be a formal sit-down dinner, but worry not, because we'll be passing around delicious late-night snacks around 10 pm. Our venue is VERY cozy and intimate, so prepare to forge new friendships with your fellow guests and make sure to bring your dancing feet. This is a standing-room-only affair, and it will be closer to a dark and loud bar/club environment than anything else. We can't wait to celebrate and be groovy with you! Love, Eric and Sunny

One of our favorite places for dinner in town! Enjoy the yummiest Italian meal in the garden, or have some espresso martinis in the blue bar! No reservations are taken but there is always a wait, so get there early!
A dreamy outdoor spot for brunch, lunch, or dinner! The husband and wife who own this magical place built all of the structures and made all of the art you see. The kitchen used to be a garage! This is the also a great spot for some coffee or tea. Make sure to ask for Lexi or Lakin <3
