We're getting married

While Charlie and I originally met in Fall 2013 at Hennepin County Medical Center, it was his roommate I worked and became friends with. In February 2014 as luck would have it, I invited my co-worker to a friend’s birthday, and he brought Charlie along as well. Though our paths crossed again, it was still another month before I messaged my co-worker and Charlie responded and finally asked me out for a drink. We went to The Loop in Northeast Minneapolis and Charlie showed me how to order my first martini and we bonded over our love of music and discovered several concerts we had both attended. We spent the summer telling each other we would be casual and nothing long term. However, it wasn’t until May 2015 with a trip to Chicago in the Signature Lounge that relationship officially began.

Charlie suggested we go to Top Golf with some friends for the night. As some of you know, during quarantine Charlie and I started taking golf lessons so an evening at Top Golf sounded perfect. While driving I noticed we weren’t heading towards Top Golf, but Charlie assured me it was just a detour. Instead, Charlie took me to Alms park to sit in a beautiful gazebo and watch the sunset as we overlooked the river and part of the city. Just prior to sunset I stepped away and when I returned, I saw something that melted my heart. Charlie with three lit candles and rose petals shaped as a heart, after was a very heartfelt speech, I excitedly said yes to the proposal. After the crying stopped, Charlie pulled out a bottle of Dom Perignon that he had engraved with our names and anniversary for our second anniversary. We sat, sipping champagne, and watching the sunset, and were even blessed to see some fireworks as the sun went down. On 9.23.21 Charlie and I made the decision to commit to one another in a small intimate ceremony with only Ryann and two close friends present. It was a beautiful sunset ceremony at Alms park where Charlie proposed. We cannot wait for you to help us celebrate our first year of marriage as you witness us renew our vows!
