Austin was very hungover. In fact, he forgot about our first date completely. Until, Stephanie, very organized and on time, sent him a message asking if they were still meeting for coffee that day. After a brief contemplation of life and his recent choices, Austin said let's keep our plan and he will be there in an hour. Something about that first Hinge message (5 months late) made him decide to power on. If you've ever done online dating, you know to always keep the first date simple and with plenty of exit options. What was supposed to be a short coffee date to get to know each other turned into a couple of hours and more than one trip to the coffee truck. Something about spending the normal Sunday existential dread with someone new was exciting for both of them. One date led to another, then to a wine and oyster outing (things are getting serious). Why not turn it up to 11 and go on a 4th of July weekend trip with all of Stephanie's closest childhood friends? It's only been about 11 days of dating, so basically a lifetime. This trend continued when Austin joined Stephanie and her family on a vacation for almost a week. If you're not keeping track, it's now been 3 weeks of official dating. If that wasn't enough to scare him off, then I don't think anything will. Austin knew that she was the one after he was sitting in the airport heading home without her. In keeping with the same patterns, they continue to challenge age-old relationship timelines and are now excited to share the biggest date of all with everyone. See y'all in the ATX.
