Jon happened to message Sheri, online September 12, 2022. We had chatted for a while and Sheri was a bit on the busy side. (According to Jon - Very busy!) He didn’t give up- even sent Sheri flowers- twice in one week! Our first “official” date was to see the Blue Jackets(They won, surprisingly!) Fast forward a year later… September 17th, 2023, Sheri was watching Silence of the Lambs.(If you know Sheri- she loves movies like this,) Jon came home and asked Sheri to come watch the sunset with him. So we went to the Metro Darby Buffalo Park. They have some telescopes towards the back of the building to look out past the fields. Jon had looked through it and she thought he was fixing it. ( He actually made it so she couldn’t see anything- sneaky, right! ) Sheri looked into the telescope and was trying to adjust it to see the sky. What she didn’t know was that Jon happened to be behind her on one knee holding her ring until she decided to turn around. Sheri finally got the telescope in focus, she turned around, was looking up because he is almost a whole foot taller than her, then realized he was on one knee. Jon then sweetly asked Sheri to marry him. This was definitely very special as this was the first time Sheri watched a sunset, w someone special to her. It was perfect. She said, “Yes, of course I’ll marry you.” We are each other’s best friends, #1 fan, support, and everything else in between. We can be ourselves around each other, be silly - Like Jon teaching Sheri to hoverboard while they were making dinner, Sheri speaking like Christopher Walken to make him laugh, or telling Dad jokes before going to bed. We lift each other up and we make each other want to be a better person each and every day. We can’t wait until 10/13/24.
