On the last night of their camping trip to Yosemite National Park, Taylor encouraged the idea of watching one last sunset with wine & views of Yosemite valley, despite rain on the forecast. However, the weather cleared perfectly & they enjoyed wine and chocolate on the back of the pickup truck, listening to old cassette tapes. As the sun started to set, he sneakily popped an unrecognized tape into the cassette player. Shannon quickly realized this was a recording of him singing their favorite song, "my love" by Joni James. that led into a few more songs, & finally one in which he asked Shannon to marry him. Shannon was ready to say "yes" after the first line. At the end of the song, Taylor began talking about how he had asked for Shannon's dads permission, & help from the family in planning the proposal. Que the tears. He got down on one knee, pulled a little box out with shannon's great-grandmother's ring in it & asked Shannon to marry him. The easiest "yes". they were able to spend the next day soaking in the beautiful views of Yosemite, enjoying the quiet, & taking in everything that trip meant. They are so excited to celebrate with you all & cannot wait for their wedding day.
