How We Met

8.27.18

We met in our anatomy lecture at the beginning of Sawyer's junior year and Gabe's senior year at Missouri State. Neither of us expected to find our spouse that day, but who wouldn't fall in love while bonding over exams and studying cadavers? But really, it was only a matter of time before our study dates turned into real dates, and the rest is history.

The Proposal

9.18.23

We were going out for a dinner date in downtown Springfield, and Gabe thought it would be romantic to stop in St. Joseph's church where we had talked about one day getting married. As we stood toward the front of the church, in the exact spot we'll say "I Do," Gabe got down on one knee, while his sister-in-law Taylor hid in the choir loft taking pictures. It was intimate and perfect. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.

FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our wedding day is semi-formal (or cocktail attire). For men, think dress pants, a tie, and a suit jacket if you're up for it. No jeans, please! For women, think midi-dress, sophisticated sundress, or a cocktail dress.

Question

Are children invited? Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We can't wait to celebrate with everyone closest to us! Your invitation will indicate children's names as well as plus ones. When you RSVP, it will give you the opportunity to respond for all invited family members/guests.

Question

What should we do between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Our church is located near downtown Springfield, so feel free to explore the many local businesses nearby! Or you can use this time to check into your hotel if you are from out of town. Our reception venue is about 25 minutes from the church, so please plan accordingly.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We are not doing a block of hotel rooms, but there are so many options available in the Springfield area. For closest proximity to our venues, we suggest staying either downtown or on the northeast side of Springfield. Please reach out to us if you need any help!

Question

Can we leave our cars at the reception overnight?

Answer

While we want everyone to have a good time and enjoy the bar, our venue does not allow cars to be left overnight. Please designate someone to make sure you and your car get home safely!
