Historic Arkansas Museum is home to an historic city block including the oldest building in Little Rock, an 1850s Farmstead, galleries of Arkansas Made art and history ranging from indigenous Arkansans to contemporary artists and artisans.
The Old State House Museum is the original state capitol building of Arkansas and the oldest standing state capitol building west of the Mississippi River. Since 1833, when construction began, the building and its grounds have witnessed many of the most important events in Arkansas history. Today, the museum’s exhibits and events are open to the public.
A historic re-creation of an 1880's water-powered grist mill. It is in the opening scenes of the classic movie "Gone With The Wind." It features sculptures by Senor Dionicio Rodriguez and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (Site #86003585). A highlight for visitors traveling Arkansas is the Old Mill, a favorite attraction that provides both a glimpse of history and a very beautiful photographic opportunity. (Don't forget to bring your camera!) The Old Mill is located in the T.R. Pugh Memorial Park, at the corner of Fairway Avenue and Lakeshore Drive in North Little Rock.
The Clinton Presidential Library and Museum is located within the Clinton Presidential Center and Park. The Center includes the Clinton Foundation and the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service. In addition to the archival collections and research facilities, the Clinton Presidential Library and Museum features exhibits, special events, and educational programs. The museum includes replicas of the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room. Permanent exhibits utilize documents, photographs, videos and interactive stations. A timeline and alcoves highlight domestic and foreign policy, as well as life in the White House. The American Presidency is part of a unique heritage that is yours to explore through archives, museums, and special programs. Presidential Libraries preserve the documents and artifacts of our Presidents and provide insight into the times in which these Presidents lived and served the nation.
The MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History was created to interpret our state's military heritage from its territorial period to the present. Located in the historic Tower Building of the Little Rock Arsenal--the birthplace of General Douglas MacArthur--the museum preserves the contributions of Arkansas men and women who served in the armed forces. Exhibits feature artifacts, photographs, weapons, documents, uniforms and other military items that vividly portray Arkansas's military history at home and abroad.
The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts offers an inspiring array of visual, performing arts, and educational experiences. The Museum is committed to creating an inclusive cultural space for the community to engage with diverse artistic perspectives through the AMFA Foundation’s 14,000 object permanent collection, compelling temporary exhibitions, lively theatre, and enriching courses.
Since our founding in 1976, we have maintained the highest artistic standards. Our vibrant history includes award-winning artists — both local and from across the country — with a focus on celebrating artists and works with connections to our community. Our core programming is a year-long season of 5-6 productions, freshly created for our audiences in an intimate, 340-seat theatre in downtown Little Rock. We tell stories that provide entertainment and escape, that help us process the world around us, and that foster a sense of mutual understanding. Unlike most of the ever-present electronic media, the live experiences of The Rep are distinctly theatrical–immersive and shared by the community in a public space outside of individual homes.
Just west of Arkansas’s capital city of Little Rock, Pinnacle Mountain stands as the centerpiece of this geographically diverse state park. Rock Town Distillery is proud to call Little Rock home and source ingredients from farmers across Arkansas. Phil Brandon’s goal for Rock Town was to make an affordable product using all-natural ingredients that could compete against any top-shelf competitor in the nation. That is precisely what Rock Town has done. In 2009, Phil Brandon left his corporate job in the pursuit of his passion, starting a distillery. Thus the phrase ‘Our Passion Is Our Spirit’ was born, and in 2010 Rock Town Distillery found its home in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The Museum of Discovery is Little Rock's premier science and technology center, and our mission is to ignite and fuel a passion for science, technology, engineering, arts and math through dynamic, interactive experiences. Our museum is one of the oldest in the state of Arkansas, founded in 1927. We became the Museum of Discovery in 1998 when we moved to our River Market location.
