Rudolph and Clarice first met as yearlings at The Reindeer Games after one of the young bucks Fireball encouraged Rudolph to go and talk to Clarice after noticing her looking over at him. The two agree to walk home together before Clarice tells Rudolph that she thinks that he is cute, which makes Rudolph leaps high in the air with joy. During a playful tussle with Fireball, Rudolph got laughed at by the other young bucks. Clarice, went after him, reminding him that they promised to walk home. She then sings "There's Always Tomorrow" to cheer Rudolph up. Rudolph helped Clarice learn how to fly. Clarice then said that she loves him just the way he is. Rudolph admitted his love for Clarice, which causes her to fly with heartfelt joy. The rest is history.
