We're getting married!

It all started with an after-school job. Matthew was at the tail end of his senior year of high school. His last baseball game played, AP exams competed and college on the horizon, and for the first time in his life, nothing left on his schedule. He thought he’d finally earned some rest. But his dad had other plans. One day, Matthew came home to find a list waiting for him from his dad. At the top: “Get a job.” So, reluctantly, he applied to Blue Goose, a local Tex-Mex restaurant where his older brother had worked a few summers before. It was close to school, seemed easy enough and just like that, his first “real job” began. What he didn’t expect was to walk in on his first shift and see Alex. Alex, had been working at blue goose for several months already. From that day on, there was just something about being together. Matthew was clearly looking for someone to tell his jokes to and luckily for him, Alex was looking to be entertained by him. At Blue Goose, we couldn’t help but gravitate toward each other. As the shift lead, she would let him to leave early and she’d complete his side work for him and in return he’d swat and clean up all the dead flies in her section. There was constant joke making and leaving silly notes on her car after every shift they worked together. It felt like the beginning of a Hallmark movie— carefree, full of laughter, and too good to be true. But like all summer stories, ours had to pause. We went back to school in different states, figuring that was the end of it. Little did we know, that was only the beginning. Fast forward a few years — our senior year of college. Life had a way of bringing us back together. We reconnected, older and a little wiser, and this time it felt real. We knew we didn’t want to let each other go again. When Alex decided to move back to Texas after graduation and Matthew accepted a job back home in McKinney, everything clicked. He asked her to be his girlfriend and from that moment on, it’s been us through every high, low, and in-between. We’ve built a life we love — full of adventures, laughter, growth, and one very spoiled dog, Belle, who we lovingly call our baby. From the moment we met at “The Goose” to where we are now, our story has been full of surprises, second chances, and a lot of love. And now, we can’t wait to start our next chapter, forever.
