Where to eat / What to do

Fio's hometown has a love affair with food and rightfully so: in fact, Lima has more restaurants listed in the San Pellegrino World 50 list than any city outside of Tokyo – and that includes Paris, London and New York (thanks BBC for these facts :p). But Lima also offers a lot more than food, it's an experience all of its own. Here are some places to best experience this colorful capital

Central

Central, Lima, Provincia de Lima 15094, Peru

The #1 restaurant in the world - do we need to say more? (GET RESERVATIONS EARLY!!!)

Isolina

101 Avenida San Martín, Lima, Gobierno Regional de Lima 15063, Peru

No.12 Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants 2019 - specialist in cuisine from Lima. Do not miss!

Punto Azul

595 Calle San Martín, Miraflores, Provincia de Lima 15074, Peru

Best seafood! Highly recommended for all seafood dishes and especially Cevichito Levanta Muertos ("Dead-Raiser" Ceviche)

La Lucha Sangucheria Criolla

308 Diagonal, Miraflores, Provincia de Lima 15074, Peru

A popular sandwich-chain: try a fried-pork-and-sweet-potato sandwich and wash it down with a smoothie made with lucuma (one of our most beloved Peruvian fruits). To die for!!

Ayahuasca

130 Avenida San Martín, Barranco, Provincia de Lima 15063, Peru

As an emblematic restobar in the heart of Barranco, Ayahuasca has become a reference point for the ever so Peruvian Pisco Sour. The signature cocktails, based on pisco, are mostly made with their own macerate of herbs and coca leaves. Ambiance is Peru themed, just ensure to look for a sit inside the mansion so you can take in all the decor!

Brisas del Titicaca Asociación Cultural

168 Heroes de Tarapacá, Lima, Provincia de Lima 15046, Peru

Typical Peruvian music, from the huaynos of the Andes to Afro-Peruvian rhythms, is played at this traditional venue that is located in the outskirts of downtown. However, this nighttime show offers dancers and live music, and sometimes a buffet is included with the ticket price. BTW: Performers are quick to spot first-timers and pull them onstage (Raul is happy to share his story to whoever is interested LOL)

Sargento Pimienta Rock Bar

757 Avenida Francisco Bolognesi, Barranco, Provincia de Lima 15063, Peru

Hit the rooftop for Salsa nights!

El Rincón Que No Conoces

363 José Bernardo Alcedo, Lince, Provincia de Lima 15046, Peru

The flagship restaurant by the legendary Teresa Izquierdo. Another great for that home-cooked meal feeling!

FAQs

If you have any other question other than the ones listed here, please feel free to reach to one of us so we can help you.
Question

What is the dress code for our wedding?

Answer

Formal attire :)

Question

Are the Ceremony and Reception at the same place?

Answer

Yes! Doors open @ 2pm for welcome drinks and the Ceremony begins promptly @ 3pm.

Question

What is the weather in Lima in September?

Answer

Since the wedding will be at the beginning of Spring season, please refer to the weather forecast prior to your flight! Lima temperatures in September can range in the 60s-80s degrees Fahrenheit with a climate reminiscent to Seattle. It is endearingly called "Lima the Grey" by it's locals primarily due to the mist-covered sky during the late Fall, Winter, and early Spring days.

Question

What is the best way to go from the airport to the hotel?

Answer

The best way to go from the airport to the hotel is to coordinate a pick-up with the hotel you will be staying in prior to arriving to Lima . Alternatively, you have the option between the following shuttle services: - QuickLlama: Recommended to us. See their website for more information and the map of their vehicle locations in the airport parking lot. - Taxidatum: We used this during our first trip to Lima and had a driver waiting outside the terminal with our names on a sign. While taxi services are available inside the arrivals terminal, they can be costly, so opting for pre-arranged transportation is advisable over hailing a regular cab outside the airport. We also do not recommend Uber for leaving the airport because the traffic entering the airport will not be favorable to finding your assigned vehicle.

Question

Transportation in Lima

Answer

Uber is the easiest and most reliable form of transportation throughout the city. While there are other advertised taxi-apps, you may need a Peruvian phone number to register.

Question

Do we have a hashtag for the wedding?

Answer

Yes we do! You can use #GetDownWithTheGarays <3
