FAQs

Question

By when should I RSVP?

Answer

By June 24, 2023. We are assigning seating at the reception and don't want to leave anyone out. RSVP via the tab above!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive at St. Michael's at least 15 minutes before the ceremony.

Question

What time should I arrive at the reception?

Answer

You are welcome to arrive at The Oaks at 5pm to get the party started! If you need to kill some time after the wedding, we recommend an afternoon pick-me-up at one of the Downtown Cary or Apex coffee shops or bars on our Things To Do page (BREW Coffee, Pharmacy Bottle + Beverage, Common Grounds, Salem Street Pub), or any of the other spots in the area.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! St. Michael's has plenty of parking, and free valet parking will be provided at The Oaks. You may not leave your car overnight at The Oaks, as it is the venue manager's home - please keep this in mind throughout the cocktail hour and dinner! :)

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes; this wedding will be cocktail attire. Given our outdoor reception, lighter weight fabrics are a good idea (although there will be air conditioning at both St. Michael's and The Oaks). North Carolina weather in the summer is generally hot and humid, but can be fickle, so it may be a good idea for ladies to bring a light sweater for the evening as well.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We've hired an amazing photographer to take pictures for us during our ceremony, so please refrain from taking any of your own photos. During the reception, however, feel free to take all the photos you want!

Question

About a Catholic wedding ceremony

Answer

A Sacrament is a gift from God to provide us with His grace. The Sacrament of Matrimony is a vocation, or a call from God to live a married life. A married couple’s love and dedication to one another is an expression of Christ’s inseparable love for His people. God’s love is within the couple as they join themselves in the pursuit of holiness. The Catholic faith recognizes 7 Sacraments, and the Sacrament of Matrimony is the only Sacrament where the priest is not the minister of the Sacrament, but a witness. God uses the bride and groom to dispense the grace He gave us, while the priest serves as a witness for the Church. We are choosing to have a Catholic wedding ceremony rather than to celebrate a Nuptial Mass, so will not be celebrating the Liturgy of the Eucharist during our wedding. If you would like to attend a Mass at St. Michael's during our wedding weekend, please see the FAQ detailing our own plans for attendance or St. Michael's Mass schedule here: https://www.stmichaelcary.org/mass-times/

Question

Luke & Rachel's Mass plans Aug. 4-6

Answer

St. Michael's holds Eucharistic Adoration from 9am-6pm on Fridays, so we will be attending 8:30am Mass and praying a Holy Hour together from 9am-10am on Friday, August 4. We'd love to have you join us if you are in town then! We plan to attend 8:30am Mass on Sunday, August 6, at which we would also love to see you if you're around and awake. :)

For all the days along the way
