Patrick & I matched on tinder after he “super liked" me and I swiped right in return! Our profiles were the mirror images of the other, reflecting some of the things that we love and enjoy most; friendship, family, fun, food, & dogs! We quickly realized we had so much in common and once we met, we knew that we had something special.
Pat took me to a restaurant in Exeter, NH that he had been really wanting to try; a charming farm to table restaurant that had a pretty cool menu. As we were sitting down to our table, I noticed him placing a small rock next to him. I thought he had taken it out of his pocket which I, as a lover of collecting rocks, gems, shells and the like myself, found to be incredibly sweet. When I inquired about the rock and told him that I wished I had brought one too… he politely told me that I already had one; it was the paper weight holding down our menus.
Patrick & I had been dating for a couple of months when we decided to take our first trip together. We chose Portland, Maine and we were more than excited, albeit a bit worried that we could be ruining our "no-fight" streak early on. Our three nights there were spent walking, shopping & eating our way around the city. We had the best time exploring while still really getting to know each other. This is one of the reasons we both love Portland so much, a few of our favorite restaurants are there along with some of our fondest memories together! Having said that, we have chosen it as our Mini-Moon destination and will be spending a couple nights there after the wedding.
For my 30th, my bestest friends and family threw me the greatest “Friends” show themed party; everyone I loved most was there and all of them were very excited to meet Mr. Patrick. Thankfully I had brought him over to meet my parents previously, so we could just throw him to the sharks upon arrival. I am so grateful to all of my friends & family for being there and just so excited to meet Pat. I know it was overwhelming for him, but there was a big cake with peanut butter frosting so he was doing just fine. We had the best time and there was an after party at my absolute favorite bar, where we had craft cocktails and chocolate chip cookies. Oh, and lots of kissing, just ask my friends!! 💋
In March of 2020 we had been dating for six months when everything shut down and Pat & I decided to quarantine together in his small downtown Exeter apartment. We somehow managed to make it almost four months there together with (holds breath) no quarrels! The rest is history, we can defeat anything together.
We love Vermont so much, it is our combined happy place and we would ultimately like to end up there someday. Learning that we both have strong ties to the North East Kingdom was a highlight for us when we first started dating. It means a lot to us and holds a very special place in our hearts.
Pat had taken me to the Nubble Lighthouse in Maine for one of our first dates; it was so sweet of him to think of this location as we started talking about taking the next step in our life together. We hopped in the car one morning and he took me on a ride, I did not know where we would end up but when we arrived at this location in particular, I knew something was up. We walked out into the hazy day and had just found a nice spot to sit together when he proclaimed that he had LEFT SOMETHING IN THE CAR and he ran back to retrieve said item (oh my Patrick). He then returned, got down on one knee, and asked me to do him the honor of becoming his wife. We had some strangers snap a couple of pictures and then we went to lunch where I had the best Caesar salad and chowder; it really was a great day.
Our families all got together for dinner in Raymond at the Grabowski House. It was so nice to get everyone together to meet for the first time, the day felt quite special. Patrick’s favorite moment of the day was my dad saying “Happy Thanksgiving” to Pat’s parents as they left the house. It was in fact not thanksgiving, but it definitely felt like it!
Honestly, this shit is stressful but we are beyond thrilled to be getting married and celebrate our commitment to each other with all of our friends and family. We hope that this day is filled with a million moments to remember and that each of our guests has the best time and is filled with great food, laughs and a bunch of love!!
Pat & I are so ready to be married and continue onto this next chapter of our lives together; saving for a house and we truly cannot wait to become parents. We will see which happens first! Our love for each other still grows everyday; with a shared dream of living our lives in peace with all of our great family and friends, a couple of kids and, excuse the language, a shit ton of dogs!
