Our love story began on the campus of Northern Illinois University in 2014. Harold had just transferred from Western Illinois University, as Paris was starting her sophomore year at Northern. Paris had been working for about two weeks in the dish room alone and needed help. Her supervisor told her she will have help soon. On August 23rd Harold started his job at Stevenson dining hall. The supervisor advised Harold that a young lady had been asking for help in the dish room and he needed Harold to go help her. Who would have thought that the supervisor was sending Harold to meet his future wife! As Harold was making his way to the dish room, he laid his eyes on this beautiful chocolate woman. Paris was working when Harold introduced himself. He said, “Hi what is your name?” Paris responded, “Paris”. Harold then said, “One day can I take you to Paris.” Paris did not crack a smile or laugh. As the two began to work together more, a great friendship grew. Eventually, Paris noticed that Harold was a decent guy so both started to hang out more. Their friendship was so strong that both would go to ihop and just sit and talk for hours. At this point, things were getting serious between Paris and Harold. The couple went from just friends to dating. On November 24, 2016, Harold came to Paris house to visit her and her family. Harold called Paris and stated he was outside. When she opened the door there was Harold standing outside with flowers, a teddy bear, and a heart necklace in hand. Harold then asked Paris to officially be his girlfriend. Her face thrilled with excitement, she joyfully said yes, and they embraced each other with a hug and kiss. The two were truly inseparable. The love they had for each other was genuine and true. Harold and Paris became more than boyfriend and girlfriend, they also became best friends. Fast forward to December 2017 the two walked the stage and graduated together obtaining their bachelor’s degrees. Post graduation, the couple decided they had enough of Dekalb and moved into their first apartment together in Richton Park. Things were great in Richton Park, the couple had good jobs and were always enjoying life, but it was time to take things to another level. In July of 2020, Harold booked Paris a nail appointment with her favorite nail tech, bought Paris a sexy black dress, booked her hair appointment, and surprised her with a pair of red bottoms heels. Paris was under the impression this was just a nice date night and that she was receiving the Queen treatment as she deserves. But what she did not know was that soon she would be going from girlfriend to Fiancée. Harold booked a reservation at the famously known Chicago Cut steakhouse, one of their favorite restaurants. To Paris surprise, when they walked in the restaurant, she saw all her family and friends. Harold and Paris walked into the middle of the restaurant and all their loving friends and family surrounded them. At this point Paris body was shaking with excitement as the palm of Harold hands moist with nervousness. As Harold grab both of Paris hands and looked into her eyes Harold expressed his love for her. Harold then proceeded to get down on one knee as he grabbed the box. It was a sparkling single halo oval cut diamond ring with a double band of diamonds along the sides. He listened! This is exactly the ring Paris said she wanted. Fast forward 3 years and you all will be witnesses to the couple’s union as one.
