Shopping on South Congress is a must for first time visitors! Try Home Slice for a slice of pizza and enjoy the fun and quirky stores Austin has to offer.
One of our favorite things to do is grab a coffee and walk the trail around townlake with Oliver!
If you're staying more south, Meanwhile is definitely one of our most frequented spots/breweries. They have an amazing outdoor space with great beer and fantastic food trucks (Distant Relatives BBQ, Side Eye Pizza, Pueblo Viejo, and Besame Ice Cream are our faves). Pro tip: get there early! There's also a nearby distillery, Fierce Whiskers, for handcrafted cocktails! Another great outdoor space and favorite for drinks.
Will and I love to golf! (Will definitely much more than Nikki...) however this pitch and putt is right in the middle of downtown Austin and such a gem! Enjoy 9 holes on this par 3 course. All levels welcome, groups up to 6. They have everything you need available for rent- come as you are, it's very casual.
Because we know you'll want to try some of the best BBQ... this is definitely an Austin favorite!
Head over to the infamous Broken Spoke for some good old fashion Texas two-step! Don't forget your cowboy boots :)
As the primary art collection for the city of Austin, the Blanton Museum of Art is a major resource for the community. With a year-round schedule of traveling exhibitions, art lovers are sure to discover new and old favorites at the Blanton.
One of the best things to do in Austin is grab a blanket, snacks, bevys, and friends and head to Zilker Park for a picnic overlooking the Austin skyline.
What we believe are the best breakfast tacos in town- they have a few locations including one next to Desnudo Coffee mentioned below!
If you want to bar hop, head over to east 6th (east side of 35)! There's a bunch of places you can walk to including some of our favorites: Lazarus, Whistlers, Nickel City, Liberty Bar, Latchkey, Hotel Vegas, Shangri-La, and many more! (disclaimer: we're now old and usually go during the afternoon/early evening so can't tell you what it's like at night these days LOL) Central Machine Works is also nearby and a great space for large groups! Another favorite.
The best coffee spot in town. Order ahead and get there early to avoid a wait.
About a 5-10 minute hike up rugged stairs to incredible views of lake Austin and the city. Please be aware that the staircase to the summit is not stroller-friendly or wheelchair friendly.
If you want to live a day in our life, Armadillo Den and the bars next to it are in our neighborhood and our most frequented spot. It is a bit further south, but honestly where you'll most likely find us and Oliver on a Friday.
