Athens, Greece

Our Big Fat Greek Life

We still find it hard to believe that we found each other in this crazy concrete jungle that is New York city! As soon as we moved here, we realized that everyone is doing their own thing; time is a luxury and meeting new people is harder than it used to be back home in Athens and Port Jeff! Well, fortunately, we finally met each other at a friend's karaoke-and-board-game night in Queens. At first, we thought we might become friends, then we became Acroyoga partners. The rest is history! To this day, we still play board games and sing karaoke. Rob sang his heart out when he proposed to Nadia one night at a piano-restaurant in Manhattan. We hope Rob will eventually learn enough Greek to start singing in Greek too! Our story became complete when Alexandra came in our family in August of 2023! We couldn't have been happier! Our little bundle of joy has been keeping us busy, but she also could be another reason why Rob will learn some more Greek songs! We are very excited to share our story and celebrate our special day with all of you! See you soon! Thank you - Ευχαριστούμε!

Email address: mapollo@otenet.gr Phone: +30210-5244600 Address: 2, Ag. Travel Note

Getting In

We recommend flying into Athens International Airport.

Travel Note

Getting Downtown

The airport connects to the Athens Metro (blue line), a convenient way to explore the city. You can take the red line to Athen's touristic city center, near the ancient site of the Akropoli. Nadia's hometown is located a few stops south on the same Metro line, Aghios Dimitrios—also a nice place to stop for some shopping at the Metro Mall. You can find more information about transportation from and to the Athens International Airport by following the link in the "View" button below. Most known rental car agencies are available if you wish to rent a car directly from the airport as well: aia.gr/traveler/landing-in-Athens/car-rental/ Just a reminder! Most Greek cars are stickshift, so make sure you ask for an automatic if you are more comfortable with one.. You won't need a car to move around downtown, but you will need it if you wish to drive in the outskirts of Athens to visit the wonderful beaches.

Travel Note
