We are coordinating a shuttle from Hotel La Compania to the Miraflores Visitor's Center. The visitor's center is currently undergoing renovations. Currently, visitors can observe ships as they transit the canal and view an IMAX show that focuses on the history and operations of the Panama Canal. Copa Airlines is the most popular carrier for travel to Panama. Look for direct flights from LAX, ORD, or some where else to Panama City - Tocumen International Airport (PTY).
Parque Nacional Soberanía is located just 30 minutes from Panama City near the banks of the Panama Canal, in the canal construction zone, and spans about 22,000 hectares. The park contains dry tropical rainforest, countless species of animals, and the Chagres River, which runs through it. We recommend soliciting a guide if you plan to explore the park.
The Amador Causeway is a great place to take in Panama City’s skyline and the Pacific entrance to the Canal as you stroll, jog, skate, bike, rent an electric scooter or just sit and enjoy the breeze. You can also shop for local wares at handicraft shops, eat at some of the area’s restaurants, or visit the Punta Culebra Nature Center operated by the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.
