We want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for your love and support as we embark on this chapter in our lives. We are honored to have you as our guests and can't wait to celebrate with you. With love, Milo & Dave
Call it fate, or simply one mans thirst for an IPA on a hot summers morning, during a world cup match that has long been forgotten, Milo and Dave met in a little bar in Brooklyn in 2018. Noticing Milo’s Australian accent, Dave thought it a good idea to introduce himself and get to know her. They hit it off immediately and to solidify this new found spark, they lit up the dance floor that very night. Now, 5 years later, we are about to embark on the greatest dance of our lives as we say "I do". We are truly grateful for our love story, and we look forward to a future together that inspires magic.

Milo is my little sister so I have known her all her life. You're one of the most amazing people I know - I should tell you this more often, and there is so much that I admire about you. I have watched you grow into the gorgeous woman that you are and I’m so happy that you’ve found someone who loves and cherishes you. You are going to make a stunning bride and an amazing loving wife. I can’t wait to celebrate you both
Best Man
One of Dave's oldest and closest friends, Aaron and Dave met on their first day of high school and quickly became friends, ending up spending most mornings playing arcade games for free at the local Westfield. Over the years the Butlers and the Reynolds truly became family, and while both Aaron and Dave have spent years traveling abroad, they have always kept in touch and remained the closest of friends, despite any physical distance or time that may have existed.
Bridesmaid
Milo and I met way back when we were mere little teenage babies, somewhere around 2012. In classic Perth style, we met because everyone knows everyone (aka through mutual friends). A trip was being organized to the Gold Coast and we were both super keen for a girls weekend away, even though we didn’t know everyone going. Within the first few hours, we had bonded over a love of dancing the night away, an intense game of pool, typical boy antics and having the same general energy. From that weekend to today, our friendship has never changed no matter the time or distance between us. They say that a true friend is one that even if you don’t see often, the moment you reconnect it feels like it was yesterday, and that is 100% our friendship - true, kind and always. Knowing everything Milo has been through to find her one true love, I am so honored to be standing by her side as her and Dave start this amazing new chapter together. *insert corny romantic Disney music here*
Groomsman
Tim and Dave met in high school when Tim moved from Perth to Brisbane, quickly forming a close connection listening to the great grunge albums of the 90s. Learning guitar together and jamming, Tim and Dave have held a close family friendship for over 20 years. Spent time living together in our formative youth, and remaining close for years since. Tim is among the oldest and most important of Dave's friends.

One morning about 5 years ago Dave met Milo during a World Cup match, and he decided to go for it so he asked Milo to meet him at Ciera’s party that night. Thankfully Milo accepted the invitation and they all danced the night away on the second floor of a bar called Pianos. Ciera and Milo instantly clicked and they have become best friends over the last couple years, often debating whether she is closer to Dave or Milo these days. Dave, Milo and Ellie have been a second family to Ciera and she is overjoyed to be celebrating the most genuine and loving couple!

Mike is Dave’s closest brother in age, and one of his closest friends. Sharing a tight bond and dedication to cheeky comebacks and smart-assed remarks, Mike has always been the yin to Daves yang. From the earliest age Mike and Dave had a shared enthusiasm for technology; learning to write code and building computers while also spending hours playing video games and music. Mike has always brought brightness and warmth to family and friends, and is the most loyal, kind and loving brother and friend.

Milo and I met back in 2014 when she decided to make the move from Perth to Melbourne. She’d come to my place for a housemate interview and the friendship we struck was so instant that by the end of it the question was when Milo would move in rather than if. Fair to say, it didn’t take long for us to see each other as family. Following the tragedy of Milo’s move to NYC, we’ve still managed to keep our friendship strong, which is quite impressive considering we’re both abysmal at replying to text messages and scheduling in video calls. But on a serious note, Milo is a ray of sunshine who is empathetic, genuine and so much fun to be around so it makes for an easy friendship. It wasn’t until I travelled the US in September last year that I finally met Dave and all I can say is that they’re the perfect match (and Dave you’re awesome!). I think what really makes for a great couple is kindness, honesty and open communication - all traits that Dave and Milo epitomise. I’m absolutely in awe of these two and cannot wait to see them share this special moment with all of us.

Nick is Dave’s youngest brother and twin sibling to Sarah. Always one of the boys, and as is typically the case for Dave’s family, a talented musician. Nick and Dave are both really engineers at heart and have shared cherished days playing around with cars and computers. Dave considers Nick a true kindred spirit in their shared passion for music, machines and family. Though his younger sibling, Dave has learned so much from Nick and is continually proud of his thoughtfulness, his genius and his talents.

As luck would have it, I finally crossed paths with Milo when I moved to NYC. We became friends straight away, and I had the privilege of watching her and Dave grow together into the loving couple they are today. Milo is a force of nature, and has an unparalleled ability to radiate warmth and positivity in any room, always ready to offer unwavering support and keep those around her humble. She is the friend who wholeheartedly celebrates your victories and she always has your back when you need it most. Safe to say, Dave has hit the jack-pot! I take immense pride in considering her and Dave family, and it is a tremendous honour to stand by Milo as she embarks on her journey to marry the man of her dreams. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them!

Twin to Nick and Daves younger and only sister, Sarah has always held a special place in Dave’s heart. Having endured the unfortunate privilege of bringing boys home to a house filled with older brothers, Sarah has always managed to carve out her own space among the family. One of the strongest young women anyone can meet, watching her become a caring and loving mother of two has been an exceptional privilege. Bringing warmth, tenacity and courage, Dave is excited to have his baby sister standing by his side.

Milo and I met cheering for our mutual friends, Steph and Alec in the New York City Marathon. We started talking, and it quickly became apparent that we share a similar geographic history of South Africa, Australia, and now New York, are both actresses, deep thinkers, and lovers of a good time and a boogie! After a shared ‘Sawubona’ we chatted all night and have barely stopped talking since! Milo’s cheeky laughter and wise insight have brought so much joy into all our adventures as friends. From day one I was in awe of the deep soul love connection between her and Dave and am thrilled to celebrate their marriage.

Dave met Joe working together in New York City. As they shared a common experience as British and Australian expats in a foreign land, they bonded in bemusement over the strange customs of the Americans. Over years living in NYC and traveling around the USA, these two have formed a solid bond. With a shared love of the city, love of occasional pints, and Dave’s fair-weather interest in football, and most importantly a shared love for the culinary arts. A strong and supportive friendship for two lads both living far from home, and one that will last the ages.

The weather in Brisbane can be very hot and humid, but in October it will be mild (by Brisbane standards). Expect temperatures around 16-26C and relatively little rain.
Yes! There is a lot of wildlife in and around Brisbane. This is a great experience! but a few words of caution: Don't feed any wildlife for any reason. There is no need to, and the little critters can get insistent. Nobody wants a 6' lizard crawling up their leg to steal a sandwich. There ARE snakes around the place, and there ARE sharks in the river (yes, the river). In the unlikely event you encounter a snake just stay calm and let it go about its business. It should go without saying but don't swim in the river. If you want to travel to north QLD you won't be able to swim in the ocean at this time of year due to jellyfish.
Yes, there are sharks in the river. You can take a look at this video if you don't believe us: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uom9qh4ciMk They are small, but they will mess up your whole week.
