Tommy & I initially met on MySpace in 2010...(yes, we're that old). I was 15 and Tommy had just turned 17. That online interaction quickly translated into meeting each other in person just awhile later at MJR Theatre in Adrian. Tommy had the classic long-haired, skater boy appearance that I sought out my entire life and I was hooked instantly. He was funny and obviously beautiful, but I thought he was way out of my league. Once we had met for the first time I wasn't sure how we would stay connected as I couldn't drive and was heavily reliant on my parents for transportation. However, I was quickly reassured that he was also interested when just a few weeks later he asked me to be his girlfriend and I was truly on cloud 9. Not to burst your bubble, but that teenage love didn't last long...shocker!!!! But we never lost touch and stayed fairly close until I went off to college. Even in 2013, Tommy had unknowingly set that standard for all other relationships I would pursue. He was so special to me and I knew that no one ever would ever compare to him. But despite how much I never wanted that chapter of my life to end, I went to Mount Pleasant for school and he went to work for his grandpa at Meyers Boat & our paths wouldn't cross again until late 2017 when I was just starting my senior year of college. After a night downtown with my girlfriends, I looked down to check my phone before walking into our apartment. I remember looking at my best friend Kayla in disbelief because I had 1 missed call from my high school sweetheart, "Tommy Brown<3". Of course he had lived a life without me, just as I had, but as soon as we got a chance to speak on the phone- it felt like we picked up right where we left off. It wasn't too long after that first phone call that I was making the two hour long drive home to see him for the first time in almost 4 years. Once we spent the weekend together, I was SURE I wasn't going to let him go again. He hadn't changed a bit, and those witty jokes and big green eyes stole my heart almost faster than the first time I was with him. We travelled to see each other on the weekends and once May came and I graduated from school, I moved back home and all was right in the world. He also turned me into an Eagles fan fairly quickly and not to take all the credit, but if you don't know who won the Super Bowl in 2017...GO BIRDS :) We bought our first home together right before COVID hit in March 2020, close to Tommy's Grandpa AJ and close to our beloved Gravel Pit. We got to work making it a home and added our German Shepherd, Nixon, in December of 2020. ...And isn't it so funny how life works, because little did we know just about 2 weeks after we brought our brand new puppy home, I would get pregnant with our son TJ :) We've known each other for 14 years, created a beautiful family and a beautiful home together and the last thing on our list is to share the same last name. If you've made it this far, thank you for supporting us and thank you for being a pillar in our relationship. We've carefully selected the most meaningful people in our lives to share this day with us and we are honored to host you for our long awaited, final destination to be man & wife! We love you!!! Travel Note
The Gravel Pit is owned by Thomas’ grandfather AJ Brown. It is located on the corner of Ives Road and Raisin Center Highway in Tecumseh, MI. We’ve made countless memories here together and couldn’t think of a better place to collectively celebrate our relationship with friends and family. The tent for the wedding will be staged in front of the dock to give the clearest view of the water. There is also a bonfire pit and we will have it stocked for you to make s’mores!
