We’re having a small court ceremony on 2/25/25 with just 15 people. While we can’t invite everyone, your love and support mean so much to us. If you’d like to contribute to our dream honeymoon, we’ve created a registry. Thank you for being part of our journey!
Sarie and Marcus’s story began like many modern connections with a dating app. Their initial conversation was simple with a few casual messages like "wyd?" and "how are you?" but Sarie restarted the conversation out of the blue. That was when Marcus decided to take a chance and ask her out. The timing wasn’t ideal since Marcus was at dinner with his dad, but when Sarie agreed and told him to pick a spot, he suggested Crafty Crab in Bowie. Marcus wasn’t even hungry, but he wasn’t about to let that show. When they met, everything felt right. Marcus, who had been nervous about the date, felt immediately at ease when he saw Sarie. For Sarie, the date felt natural, like catching up with an old friend. Although both were introverts, their conversation flowed easily. They talked about family, goals, and lighthearted topics that kept them laughing. They also discovered they had unknowingly coordinated outfits, both wearing red, which was their favorite color. By the end of the night, they were the last ones in the restaurant. Before leaving, their waitress offered to take a photo of them, capturing the magic of a first date that neither of them wanted to end. The next day, Sarie had plans to attend the Slow Jams and Wine Festival with friends, but she happened to have an extra ticket. On a whim, she invited Marcus, and he quickly said yes. Marcus was still cautious because it all seemed too good to be true, but he couldn’t deny his excitement. Despite the blazing sun and sweating through his shirt, the day was perfect. They laughed, enjoyed great food, and listened to live music, realizing they just wanted to keep spending time together. By the third day, any hesitation Marcus had was gone. They met for lunch at Party HQ, a fun and relaxed setting where they both felt completely at ease. Afterward, they sat in Marcus’s car for hours, talking about their dreams, values, and how much they appreciated the time they had already spent together. From Marcus’s calm and straightforward nature to Sarie’s warm and curious energy, they quickly realized they brought out the best in each other. What started as a few casual messages turned into something neither of them expected—a love story built on shared values, mutual respect, and a connection that felt like home.
