With the telling of any great story, I think it's best to start at the beginning. Hernan and I both nearly gave up on true love. Being over 40 years old and previously married, we had accepted our fate of living the rest of our lives alone. However, God had another plan for us. Ironically, about one year prior to us meeting, we both felt a strong desire to better ourselves, spiritually, emotionally and physically, and paused any forms of serious dating for a while. During this time, Hernan will tell you that he had a conversation with God in church one Sunday and he specifically asked God for me. He realized he didn't want to spend the rest of his life alone and without purpose. Hernan will also tell you, "be careful what you ask for". LOL. Not long after that, I was in Seattle, WA visiting my daughter Lauren. I remember having a conversation with her that I was ready to find love again and I didn't want to spend the rest of my life alone. Lauren suggested I get on E-Harmony because that's where her father met his current wife. I was not excited about the idea of online dating because it had failed miserably for me in the past. But with Lauren's enthusiasm and motivation she helped me create an online profile while I was there visiting. I had no idea just 4 days later, I would be introduced to my future husband and only 5 days after that, I would be on a plane to Houston, TX. The one thing I can say about God's timing is, when you're on the right path things will move quickly and with great ease. Hernan and I met in November 2022 and were engaged just 5 months later on March 14, 2023. We have been through so much in just a short period of time. We conquered a long distance relationship, flights, travel, a huge move, job changes, family issues, health issues (we both had COVID together) and as a result, we've experienced exponential personal and spiritual growth both individually and as a couple. We truly believe that GOD brought us together not only for our own happiness and fulfillment but to be a beacon of light for others. We feel our blessings are too great for just the two of us and we plan to live a life together serving God, our families and our community. We look forward to celebrating our special day with all of you! Thank you so much and God bless!
