Nathan and I met, in of all places, an AA meeting! I remember exactly what his face looked like when I saw him the first time. I made a joke and he laughed. His grin lit up and I saw his crows feet for the first time; it made me melt. I didn’t seek him out, but somehow he was placed right in front of me after the meeting and we chatted. We immediately joked around and hit it off. And so we left each other. I thought he was cute, but I knew that God was going to bring us together if it was his will! So I let God do his thing. I didn’t get his number, I made no move whatsoever. I just let things happen however they were supposed to. A couple weeks later, a friend tagged him in a post on instagram. I followed him, he followed me back. He responded to something funny I had posted, and for the next couple of weeks we chatted little by little. Eventually, around Valentine’s day, he asked me on a date. February 19, 2022 was our first official date. We got Italian food and went to an Escape Room. He noticed my shoe was untied at one point and tied them:) He was so wittily funny and was very outright himself. He expressed his love for God. We had a wonderful time. Many dates later (concert, gym dates, movie dates, hanging out at my parents house) and we had completely fallen for each other. My father, mother and brother loved him, and to me this was THE most precious gift. Seriously. It amazes me how instantly he clicked with my family. One day we were sitting in his apartment and I had felt a deep wave of love and sense of ease being in his presence. (This next part is gushy…) I remember exactly what he looked like. The lamp was on so his brown eyes lit up golden. We stared at each other for a while in admiration, and eventually I said, “I love you.” For the first time. He said it back, and I cried because I knew I had met my soul mate. Jesus brought me the man he had prepared JUST FOR ME TO MARRY! We’ve gone on many trips (Washington, Vegas, Montana, Mammoth, Idaho) and have made beautiful memories. Beepis, Princess and (the new addition) Nala (or Piggy) are our 3 baby kitties that we love and adore. Nathan and I love each other with a love that, for a long time, I genuinely believed was impossible and is indeed still unfathomable. When he asked me to marry him, there was no hesitation. He and I waited for God to mold our relationship, and it happened. I cannot wait to call Nathan my husband. I cannot wait to call Laura my wife.
