FAQs

The Wedding Website of Cara Silverman and Laura Alexander
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact cara.silverman@gmail.com
Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We are limiting children attendees to our bridal party and family and appreciate your understanding.

Question

Are plus ones invited?

Answer

Yes, each singular guest is welcome to bring a plus one. Invited couples, of course, already count as a pair and cannot bring an additional person. Your RSVP option should include all who are included in your invitation.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal. Suits, dresses, slacks, button downs, etc. We are HIGHLY encouraging our guests to wear flat shoes with good traction. We are getting married at a lake house surrounded by nature and there may be slippery surfaces. We are also requesting guests to wear fall colors. It is recommended to bring a shawl or some kind of additional layer, as the temperature may drop when the sun goes down.

Question

What time will things start and finish?

Answer

We are asking guests to arrive at 4pm; our ceremony will follow soon after. Our cocktail hour should start by 5pm, followed by our reception which should start around 6pm, followed by speeches, dinner, dancing, etc. For those who have a bit of extra gusto, we will also have an after party that will start at 11pm with late night bites, dance music and more dancing! The after party will go until 2am, which is when the last shuttle will come.

Question

Will there be parking available?

Answer

Due to the layout of the venue and the vehicles needed onsite by vendors, parking the day of the wedding (Saturday) will be limited to immediate family, bridal party and folks staying on the property. We will arrange shuttles for pick-up / drop-off at our preferred hotels. If you are staying somewhere else, you will need to arrange for a lift or local taxi to get you there before the ceremony. Please arrange this in advance, as Lyft & Uber is not readily available locally. For our farewell brunch / recovery day, parking onsite will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

There are 4 main areas that require an RSVP which you can access in the menu on the top left: - Rehearsal dinner on Friday (only open to family, bridal party and folks traveling from very far away) - Wedding (ceremony & reception) on Saturday - After party following the reception on Saturday - Farewell Brunch + Recovery Day on Sunday

Question

When is the deadline to RSVP?

Answer

We are kindly asking our guests to complete all RSVPs by Friday, August 23rd 2024.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

A bit of both! We are planning (weather permitting) to have our ceremony outdoors surrounded by trees in a beautiful forest nook. The cocktail hour to follow will also be outdoors. The reception will be in a tent outside, with some components being outside. The after party will also be in the tent. The Farewell Brunch / Recovery Day will be a mix of indoors and outdoors.

Question

Do you have any discounts at any hotels?

Answer

Yes! We have 2 negotiated rates. We have also included a few suggested properties that we do not have discounts at, but look lovely. Please look into our travel section on the menu for more information.

Question

What food will be served?

Answer

A lot of delicious things! We kindly ask our guests to: - Select an entree as part of their RSVP - Add any dietary restrictions into the notes *We will have a vegetarian option and gluten free!

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

You bet! We will have one full open bar and one whiskey specific bar available. Although gratuity is included for our bartenders, having some cash for some extra love for them couldn't hurt.

Question

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

We really appreciate how thoughtful and generous our humans in our universe are! We will have a place for anyone bringing envelopes, but kindly ask all other gifts be purchased through the registry / delivered to our home.

Question

I can't attend the wedding in person. Will there be a virtual wedding celebration?

Answer

If you cannot make it, we will miss your presence and understand that life happens, however we will not be live streaming any part of our ceremony or reception. We would be happy to celebrate with you at a different time!
