Instead of coming to the Mussers' house, let's meet at the Manning Pavilion at UVA's Alumni Hall. More room, more parking, and on UVA Grounds near the cool Contemplative Commons (where James works). Stop in and have dinner any time between 6:00-9:00. All are welcome! Enter the rear parking lot from Sprigg Lane or Lewis Mountain Road. The Manning Pavilion is through the outside patio at the back right of the building. You'll find us there!

Casual cocktail! Wear something that you like to celebrate in that is comfortable for you-- the venue is indoor-outdoor and May weather can be variable. James will be suited and Lara will be extra because have you met her, but everyone else: wear something you like and don't sweat it!
Our event is in the Farmacy Beer and Cider Garden space located at the back of the property-- it's the one made of the big red shipping containers, so you can't miss it! Dinner will be buffet-style snacks and pizzas (vegetarian friendly!), and we will have an assortment of beers and ciders on tap. There will be yard games while the light allows, so if you've never played bocce, now's your time to learn!

Tavola (Italian)
Wonderful Italian restaurant (though a little on the pricey side!). This is where we went to dinner on the day we got married. One of our favorite places to splurge! The frutti di mare pasta is excellent!
Belle (cafe + bakery)
One of our favorites in our neighborhood! Good coffee and the best donuts in Charlottesville!
Now & Zen (Sushi)
Our current favorite date-night restaurant! We love the yuzu sake and seared scallops with flying fish roe!
Beer Run (beer)
Beer store and very casual restaurant! The location of our first date where James spilled a beer and where he and Lara accidentally ordered a nachos plate that could've fed an entire kindergarten class.
James Monroe's Highland
James Monroe's historic home and Lara's current place of work! It's here that Lara designs tours, leads educational programs, creates exhibit content and manages a full staff of guides and educators. You could also go to Monticello on the way there, I guess.
University of Virginia
Historic University of Virginia! Where Lara got her PhD and James will soon!
The Farmers Market at IX
Charlottesville's two city markets (the other is at Water Street) are within walking distance from each other a great morning stop for a little breakfast, coffee, and local produce and artisan shops! We like to walk the puppies over for enrichment in nice weather. One of our favorite stops is Nona's Italian Cucina for the taralli dolci, arancini, and Italian practice :)

Absolutely! Everyone is welcome to everything, and all activities are at family-friendly venues, so the only stricture on bringing your children is whether or not you want to bring them :)
