Like many modern love stories, ours began in the most romantic way possible: swiping right in pajamas, praying the other person wasn’t a catfish. Jessica was browsing profiles when she stumbled upon Kris’s bio: “Seeking someone to binge-watch Law & Order: SVU with.” This caught Jessica’s eye, as it was too her favorite series to indulge in. Intrigued by this common interest, Jessica took a chance and swiped right. Luckily, Kris did too—otherwise, this would be a very awkward wedding website. Their initial exchanges were filled with warmth and humor, leading to several FaceTime calls that solidified their connection and where they were able to confirm neither was using a decade-old profile picture. Eager to meet in person, they decided on a casual first date at D’Amore’s in Brooklyn. From the first moment Kris arrived to pick up Jessica, it felt easy—like they’d known each other forever. No awkward silences, no emergency exit strategies—just good food, laughter, and the start of something special. Things really took off from there. One beach day at Riis Park, Jessica blurted out the big “I love you,” and thankfully Kris didn’t run into the ocean. Embracing their deepening connection, Kris and Jessica decided to take the next step by moving in together. They found a charming apartment in Butler’s Manor, Staten Island, a neighborhood known for its serene ambiance and proximity to natural beauty. Here, Kris joyfully embraced the esteemed role of “step-dog mother” to Jessica’s beloved chihuahua, Canela, adding another layer of warmth to their shared life. Adjusting to life with a tiny but mighty four-legged overlord was no small feat, but Kris handled it with grace (and plenty of treats). Fast forward to Christmas Day nearly a year later: Kris pulled off the ultimate holiday surprise. She whisked Jessica away to a charming Christmas village in New Jersey, a place that seemed to have leaped from the pages of a fairy tale. The village was adorned with twinkling lights, quaint boutiques, and festive cheer. As they strolled hand in hand, they arrived at a riverside light show, where fireworks painted the night sky. It was there, surrounded by magic and holiday cheer, that Kris proposed. Overwhelmed with joy, Jessica eagerly accepted, sealing their commitment to a lifetime together. And now, here we are—proof that sometimes swiping right leads to the best adventure of all.
Hi, I’m Jessica! I grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and in 2024 made the classic circle-of-life move to Staten Island. My dad is a New Yorker born and bred with a mix of Italian roots and my mom is a Colombian-American immigrant. I love being mixed and celebrating both cultures! Animals have always been one of the greatest joys of my life—I’ve rescued several dogs over the years, and my sweet chihuahua mix, Canela, is truly the center of my daily routine. Caring for her and enjoying her little personality is one of my favorite parts of the day. I’ve been a vegetarian for many years (with the occasional can of tuna or fish filet, so maybe more pescatarian these days!), and my love for animals is tied to that choice. After a few years into a career in operations management for charitable/non-profit organizations, I learned that while I loved the idea of dedicating my career to doing something good for those who need it, I wanted to help people in a more direct, hands-on way and pivoted to a career in nursing. As soon as I started working in the hospital bedside, I realized my calling and the purpose for my career. Caring for people in their hardest moments is something that I don’t take lightly and hold that privilege close to my heart. It has shaped me profoundly and made me a better person. Most people describe me as an unwaveringly positive but chronically unserious, lighthearted and joyful person—the kind who can find a reason to laugh in almost any situation (sometimes to a fault). I love to cook, share meals, indulge in reality TV, watch feel-good Christmas movies, and spend time with the people who mean the most to me. Family is everything to me, and it was one of the first things that drew me to Kris. From our very first date, it was clear we were raised with similar values and family ties, and that our lives could fit together so naturally. Together, we’ve built an amazing foundation, and I cannot wait to take this next step of marriage with her and spend the rest of our lives together! Whether we go way back or are meeting for the first time, I'll be the girl in white, happy-crying my way through the day as I marry my soul mate!
…Coming soon…
Bridesmaid
Amanda is Kris’s older sister, and if there’s one word to describe her, it’s matriarchal! She has a nurturing, caring, and motherly nature that extends far beyond her own family—she looks out for everyone she knows with a level of dedication that is truly unmatched. If you need advice, Amanda is the first person you call. If you need help, she’s already there before you can even ask! She’s a mom to two of the most amazing kids—Ben, our ring bearer, and Chloe, one of our flower girls. It’s no surprise they’re such wonderful little humans, considering they have Amanda as their mother! She puts her heart and soul into everything she does, especially when it comes to family. Amanda has been an absolute lifesaver throughout the wedding planning process and we are beyond lucky to have her by our side, always.
Ring Bearer
Meet Ben, our wonderful ring bearer! At just 5 years old, he’s already Spider-Man’s #1 fan and a little superhero in his own right. Ben is incredibly smart, with a sharp wit that keeps everyone laughing. His collection of toy cars is just one of the many things that spark his boundless imagination. When he’s not racing them around, he’s out on the field playing soccer. He’s also an amazing big brother to his little sister, Chloe, and a loving best friend to his dog, Balto. As Amanda’s first child, Ben has been stealing hearts since day one, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him playing such an important role on our special day!
Flower Girl
Meet Chloe, our adorable 3-year-old flower girl! Full of sass and charm, Chloe is a ball of energy who lights up every room with her infectious laughter—especially when she’s sharing giggles with her big brother, Ben. Her passions include Minnie Mouse, strawberries, and all things the color pink! As Amanda’s second child, she brings sweetness and joy to everyone around her, and we are thrilled to have her playing such a special role as one of our flower girls on this big day!
Mother of the Bride
Claudia is the definition of warmth and charisma—an outgoing and friendly person who effortlessly makes friends wherever she goes. Claudia is a proud, retired Junior High School Math and Spanish teacher who helped shape the lives of many Brooklyn public school kids throughout her career. Born in Colombia and then emigrated to Queens, NY where she met her husband Ed, she carries a vibrant energy that lights up any room. One of her greatest passions is dancing, and you can often find her at salsa clubs, moving to the rhythm with pure joy. Claudia isn’t just Jessica’s mom—she’s her best friend, her twin, and her biggest cheerleader. The bond between them is something truly special, built on love, laughter, and an unshakable connection. Claudia’s zest for life, love for music, and ability to connect with others make her such a special part of our lives. We’re so grateful to have her love and support as we celebrate this incredible journey! Whether it’s sharing deep conversations, spontaneous adventures, or just everyday moments, Claudia and Jessica are inseparable, and Jessica couldn’t imagine this day without her by her side.
Father of the Bride
Ed, Jessica’s father, is a carpenter and electrician by trade who did construction for years, but later became a beloved high school woodshop teacher. No matter what, he’s always there at the drop of a hat, ready to help in any way he can. He would give the shirt off his back if it meant making Jessica’s life even a little bit easier. Now happily retired, he still keeps super busy—whether he’s building something new or diving into his latest hobby! Ed stays physically active, often taking long hikes and exploring different trails all over NYC. Beyond his love for the outdoors, Ed is an avid audiobook listener with a passion for fantasy novels. He’s also got a knack for engraving, using his engraving machine to create unique jewelry pieces just for fun. But above all, one of Ed’s greatest passions is his black lab, Winter, who he absolutely spoils. With his creativity, curiosity, and constant drive to learn and explore, Ed is an inspiration to us both, and we’re so happy to have him by our side on this special day!
Flower Girl
What can we say about our precious little Elianna? She is sweet-as-pie at 2-years-old and full of love and affection. Elianna melts hearts with her gentle nature and big hugs! She has a special love for flowers (perfect for her role!) and is a big fan of Miss Rachel. As Kris’s beloved niece (her cousin Billy’s daughter), she brings warmth and sunshine wherever she goes, and we’re so excited to have her as one of our flower girls and be part of our special day!
Bridesmaid
Erica isn’t just Jessica’s older sister—she’s been her guardian angel from the very start, always looking out for her! She has a great sense of humor, a warm and approachable personality, with a natural ability to make everyone feel welcomed. Her creative spirit shines through in everything she does. Whether she’s cooking up delicious meals, crafting, or tending to her plants, Erica brings passion and artistry to everything she touches. A dedicated cat mom and animal lover, Erica also has a deep love for baseball—especially the Mets! She’s attended countless games, always cheering them on with unwavering loyalty. When she’s not at the ballpark, she’s also passionate about travel and has gone to Japan multiple times to immerse herself in the culture and food she loves. Her kindness, intelligence, and thoughtfulness make her an irreplaceable part of our lives, and we are so grateful to have her by our side on this special day!
Bridesmaid
Jessica S. and Jessica F. (the bride) went to high school together. Their friendship started in the most simple way—by sitting next to each other and realizing they shared the same name. Instant friendship. Jessica S. is the bride’s best friend, ride-or-die, and the first call in any emergency—up to and including body disposal (kidding… mostly). She’s sweet, hilarious, zero drama, and the definition of real. You can tell her anything, and it stays locked up tighter than Fort Knox. She’s the most amazing mom to her one year old daughter Amelia, a loving wife to her husband Fismir, and the kind of person who makes you feel at home just by being herself. She’s always been the one to make people feel beautiful inside and out. They’ve shared baby showers, birthdays, weddings, and all the messy, magical life stuff in between—and there’s no way this day would happen without her.
Mother of the Bride
Lisa is an extraordinary woman—brilliant, compassionate, and endlessly supportive. A dedicated nurse and college professor, her intelligence and wisdom shines through in everything she does. From the very beginning of their relationship, Jessica always said that the biggest ‘green flag’ about Kris was the way she spoke so lovingly about her mother. To Kris, Lisa has always been her rock—the unwavering foundation of their family. Lisa is an incredibly hands-on grandmother who adores her grandkids and always puts family first. She has a special gift for being the voice of reason, offering guidance that helps put things into perspective. She also has a fantastic sense of humor, bringing lots of laughter wherever she goes. Beyond her role as the heart of her family, Lisa is adventurous and loves traveling and discovering new restaurants. She also has the biggest heart—so much so that when Jessica and Kris found a stray dog on the street, Max, Lisa was able to give him a loving home! She truly is the glue that holds everyone together, and we are so lucky to have her in our lives.
Officiant
Matt, Kris’s beloved cousin, is kind, sweet, and endlessly generous—the kind of guy who shows up for everyone (usually with a joke ready). He’s funny, personable, and has that natural gift of commanding a room without even trying. We always knew he’d be great at leading a crowd, so asking him to officiate our wedding just made sense. We couldn’t imagine anyone better to guide us through one of the most special moments of our lives, with plenty of laughter and love along the way.
Bridesmaid
Michelle is Kris’s younger sister and one of the most genuine, caring, and vibrant people we know. Her compassion, strength, and deep sense of empathy shine through in everything she does. What makes Michelle so special is her unwavering positivity and her infectious laugh. She lights up every room she walks into, always bringing humor, thoughtfulness, and the kind of joy that leaves a lasting impression. Michelle is the ultimate social butterfly, known for her infectious laugh, her warm energy, and the way she effortlessly makes people feel seen and cared for. Her energy is contagious, and no matter the situation, she always brings warmth, humor, and a bright perspective. Michelle is the type of person who always takes people’s feelings into account. She’s a true adventurer at heart, with a love for travel and a deep appreciation for new experiences. Beyond being an amazing sister to Kris, she has become one of Jessica’s closest confidants and the little sister Jessica never had. We’re so beyond grateful to have her by our side on this special day.
Father of the Bride
Meet Mike, Kris’s father! A retired police officer with a heart of gold and a boundless zest for life, Mike is always on the move—whether it’s helping out with the grandkids, planning his next adventure, golfing, or cheering on the Giants with unmatched passion. Mike’s love for his family is the kind that shows up—in the big ways and the small. He’s a devoted father, a hands-on grandfather (his grandkids absolutely adore him), and the kind of person who brings laughter, loyalty, and heart to every room he walks into. His excitement over our engagement and encouragement to “go big” truly inspired us to plan the wedding of our dreams. We know that without his unwavering love and enthusiasm, this day wouldn’t be nearly as magical. When he’s not spending time with his beloved black lab, Pio—a fellow police force retiree—you can often find Mike exploring new places, soaking up experiences, and collecting stories along the way. His adventurous spirit and deep love for life are infectious, and we’re so lucky to have him be such a meaningful part of our lives and this celebration.
Bridesmaid
Olga is our wild card in the best way— upbeat, hilarious, and always the life of the party. A true globe-trotter, she grew up in Greece, then moved to Sweden, and now living in the U.S. thanks to love and following her heart to Staten Island! Jessica first met Olga in nursing school and was immediately drawn to her brilliance, passion, and sense of humor. They bonded over a love of all animals, good food, and—yes—Olga’s flawless American accent, which she proudly credits to years of watching MTV. Not only is Olga Jessica’s best friend, she’s wholeheartedly embraced Kris too, and absolutely adores our dog, Canela—who’s had some epic playdates with Olga’s two Frenchies, Zeus and Herra. Her energy, warmth, and vibrant personality makes her one of a kind. We’re so lucky to have her by our side on our big day.
Bridesmaid
Taylor is Kris’s lifelong friend—truly more like family at this point. Growing up just a few houses apart on Middle Loop, their friendship began when Kris was only three years old and has lasted decades. She’s always looked out for her in a big-sister way, offering support, protection, and love through every chapter of life. Taylor is strong-willed, fiercely loyal, and has a heart of gold. She’s the kind of person who shows up when it matters and doesn’t think twice about being there for the people she loves. Some of Kris’s favorite memories are of the two of them driving all over Staten Island—music blasting, windows down, singing and laughing until they couldn’t breathe. Through the fun, the challenges, and all the little moments in between, Taylor has always been a constant source of joy and unwavering support. She’s been by Kris’s side for as long as she can remember, and we’re beyond grateful to have her standing with us on our wedding day.
The Honored Pup
While Canela won’t be making an in-person appearance at the ceremony or reception (she prefers peace and quiet in her golden years), she absolutely deserves a special mention as Jessica and Kris’s beloved fur baby! A chihuahua and Brussels Griffon mix, Canela was rescued from the streets of Mexico and now enjoys the pampered life she truly deserves. Her journey from stray to cherished companion is a testament to the love and care she’s received. Jessica and Kris’s relationship is already something special, but the daily joy and unconditional love Canela brings into their lives is the perfect cherry on top!
