I know it sounds cheesy but it really was love at first sight! A friend of Kelsey’s was dating Brian’s brother, Tyler. After every date Kelsey would hear about how amazing Tyler was. One night Kelsey jokingly asked “does this Tyler have a brother?”. Tyler and Kelsey’s friend set it up and gave Brian Kelsey’s number. After a week of texting Kelsey and Brian planned their first date. It was perfect. Brian took Kelsey out for tacos and (too many) margaritas. By the end of the night Brian asked Kelsey to be his girlfriend and they even exchanged “ I love you’s” They have been inseparable since their first date and look forward to starting this new chapter in their lives
Kelsey and Brian were married on 06/14/19. They share their anniversary with Kelsey’s grandparents, George and Rosemarie Vanderhaar, who were happily married for over 50 years. Kelsey and Brian were married at an office building in a sketchy part of Columbus in front of a handful of family and friends and Kelsey’s mom, Kim, on Facetime. Kelsey wore a one-of-a-kind white and floral polyester blend dress from Amazon and Brian wore his go-to outfit for job interviews. Kelsey and Brian spurlged and paid for the $10 vow exchange package the office offered and exchanged vows and rings with son Cayden by their side. It wasn’t exactly how they pictured the “big day” going, but it was full of love and they are so happy to have gotten married before Covid-19 turned the world upside down. They are looking forward to celebrating 2 1/2 years of marriage and reaffirming their vows in front of their entire family and friends on 12/5/21.
