The Story of Us
We have been friends since high school. We were dissection partners in anatomy class and got to know each other more as friends throughout Kate's senior year. We kept in touch every so often, as Tom went away to play Junior hockey and Kate went to UST. In 2014, we reconnected more closely and kept in touch. In 2015, before Kate moved to New Zealand, we started seeing each other, but agreed to reconnect when Kate returned. In 2016, that's exactly what we did and there's been no looking back. For the last 8 years, we've lived apart and together, bought a dog and then a home, but home has always been where ever the other is. We've been through Tom's college years and graduation, lots of jobs and career changes for Kate, traveled a lot, made and maintained wonderful friendships and have built a relationship that we believe will stand the test of time. On June 30, 2024, we officially (legally) wed in an intimate ceremony at Bassett Creek Park near our home with our parents, Kate's 4 grandparents, Tom's aunt and uncle and Tom's brother.

Upon arrival at MSP, you'll find that the train system provides a seamless and stress-free way to reach downtown Minneapolis. For guests staying outside the city limits of Minneapolis, we want to make sure you have all the information you need to navigate your way to the festivities. Please note that while public transportation within the city is reliable, options may be limited in pockets of Minneapolis and especially areas outside of Minneapolis. In such cases, we recommend utilizing ride-share services or renting a car for your convenience.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Yes, parking is available right next to our venue.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?
Answer
We will be providing an Uber voucher code. Especially if you are staying at one of the hotels, we encourage you to use Uber as your planned transportation. Please do not plan to drive unless you have arranged a sober ride home. With it being New Year’s Eve, chances of bad weather and dangerous driving are higher, so please plan ahead and DO NOT drink and drive.

If your invitation did not include your partner or a plus one, please know that at this time, we will not be able to accommodate additional guests. If you did not RSVP with a guest, please do not bring one day of.

Is the bar hosted?
Answer
We will have beer, seltzer, wine and N/A drinks hosted all evening. Beverages with hard liquor will be hosted until 9:30pm, with the choice to purchase yourself for the rest of the evening. If you’d like to purchase drinks outside of those hosted all evening, you may do so. We encourage you to bring cash to tip the bar service.

Should I bring cash?

We will be holding a Split the Pot raffle from the start of the reception through the end of dinner. One lucky guest will split the cash prize with the bride and groom, so if you’d like to buy tickets, please plan to bring cash. Tickets will be $5 each, and $20 for 5.

Aster Cafe
One of our favorite cozy spots in the Twin Cities. Had some of our first dates here and Kate worked here for years. It's a small European-inspired cafe with good nibbles and great cocktails!
Xcel Energy Center
If you know Tom, you know he loves hockey! We've spent a lot of time at Minnesota Wild Games and if you've never been to an ice hockey game before, it's a must-do when you're in Minnesota during the winter! There is a home game on Sunday, December 29.
Target Center
The Minnesota Timberwolves are HOT! While you're here, check out Ant-Man, NAW, Rudy, Naz Reid and the rest of the guys at a T-pups game! The Timberwolves have home games on December 29 and January 2!
Mall of America®
If you're coming to Minnesota for our wedding and you haven't been to MOA, you've got to go. Plus, there's no tax on clothes here so stock your suitcase full of tax-free goodies!
