The Blazing Saddle
Where Josh and Jack first met: dancing the night away on the dance floor during Des Moines Pride 2019. Five years later, it’s still “always a double, never a cover” at the Saddle!
Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden
A common date spot for Jack and Josh when they first began dating in Fall 2020. At a time when public activities were minimal, the Botanical Center provided ample fresh, warm air even on the coldest days that winter.

When should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP online by August 14, or by mail by August 1.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Answer
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the ceremony at 5:20 p.m.

Is there a dress code?
Answer
Yes, we ask that guests wear cocktail attire. To us, that means formal jumpsuits, cocktail dresses (knee length or longer), and formal separates are all welcome.

The Salisbury House is a historic venue and working museum containing historically significant artifacts and a world-renowned collection of artwork. As a result, and due to capacity limitations at our venue, our wedding has been planned as a child-free event.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?
Answer
Yes, parking is available. However, the Salisbury House is located in a residential area and space is limited. We recommend using a ride-share app to travel to the Salisbury House.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?
Answer
We are not formally reserving a hotel block, but happy to make reccomendations! The Salisbury House is just outside of the Des Moines' downtown core and close enough to West Des Moines, too. We recommend the Hilton Downtown, Marriott Downtown, and Holiday Inn Express Downtown. However, there are dozens of other hotels in the area that are comfortable and nearby: Hotel Fort Des Moines, The Surety Hotel, The Renaissance Savery Hotel, and the Hampton Inn and Suites.
