Being that the wedding is a decent drive, for literally everyone, we wanted to accommodate as many people as we could. Many people have Monday off that weekend and we didn’t want to force people to drive up late Friday night or do an early check in at the hotel on Saturday. So Sunday on a 3 day weekend seemed like the most logical move. Along with that, the weather can be unpredictable on the coast and May is usually less temperamental.
Our preferred route to Fort Bragg is the one with the least amount of winding mountain roads. From Sacramento, take 80 West to 37 in Vallejo. From 37, you will turn right onto Lakeville Highway 116 and get on 101 North in Petaluma. Head all the way up to Willits, and take 20 West to the coast. For the most scenic route, choose the GPS route that puts you on Highway 128. This will wind you through some of the best Redwoods in California and put you on Highway 1 just South of Albion, where you will enjoy a 30ish minute drive north along the coast and give you the opportunity to stop by Mendocino on your way into town. Just to make it clear, Highway 128 is NOT recommended if you get car sick. It is VERY twisty and very long, and then you will still have to wind up the coast for another 30 minutes on Highway 1. Highway 20 in Willits is Kat’s preferred route. It is also very twisty, but it is only 30 miles from Willits to Fort Bragg. Whereas Highway 128 is 80 miles between 101 and 1 of twisty tight roads.
While kids are allowed, please note the wedding will be taking place on a beautiful cliff overlooking the ocean. If this is a safety concern for your little ones, we kindly ask that you leave them at home.
No. There will be no shuttle. There is very limited ride share services (Uber/ Lyft), so please plan on getting yourself to your hotel safely. Carpooling is encouraged! Please, absolutely no drinking and driving!
We have a 20 room block reserved for our guests to book at the Holiday Inn Express in town. 250 Fort Bragg-Willits Rd Fort Bragg CA 95437 Also, the Mendocino Coast offers some of the most beautiful AirBnBs, Inns, and glamping locations along Highway 1. There are many unique and gorgeous lodging options, but please do book very early!
TACOS FOR EVERYBODY!!! Gluten free tortillas will be available.
Parking is on the property adjacent to the ceremony. There will be a few people directing you where to park and where to enter the property for the ceremony.
There is no dress code, but the wedding is being held on a working farm on the coast. So uneven and soft ground is something to take into account along with cooler temperatures, possible fog and wind. High heels are not encouraged. If you’d like more direction on dress code, casual attire with pastel colors is the way to go!
No, sorry! Anyone who is being allotted a plus one received a plus one on their invitation.
Cell service is very limited in Mendocino County. Once outside of Main Street in town, cell service is vey spotty.
Although Beach Front Farm eradicates invasive species to the best of their ability, following eco safe practices, there is poison oak in outlying, un landscaped portions of their farm. There is signage where poison oak is known to be, but use caution while exploring. Most plants are in the outer bluff edge zones, so avoid those areas. STAY AWAY FROM THE BLUFFS EDGE AND KEEP ALL CHILDREN ACCOUNTED FOR AT ALL TIMES. Thank you!
Princess Seafood Deli is a great spot to hang out have a beer, fresh crab, bbq oysters, or any of their other amazing food. Drive under the Hwy 1 bridge and take a walk or fish on the jetty.
Delicious hidden gem! Amazing breakfast spot
Rent a bike in town from Fort Bragg Cyclery and take a scenic ride along the Ka Kahleh Trail.
Easy sandy beach access
Please do not take anything from glass beach. There’s no law against it but It does make you a butt head.
