We connected through a dating website and since they are not compensating us, we will leave them nameless. Ok, it was Match. 😊 We agreed to meet at Isuka Hibachi Sushi located at 16th and Pennsylvania for our first meet-up to see if there was a connection. By that time, we both had experienced several meetups with other people and were starting to lose hope that there really was someone out there who was right for you. John arrived first and was checking out the place for security reasons and to advise on the best place to park. Do you have to ask?...you can’t take the police out of the gentleman. Jamie arrived and was already sitting in a parking lot when John walked outside the business to call her. The window of her SUV slowly rolled down and she asked John if it was ok to park here. The instant connection paved the way for the realization that love can exist at first sight, you just don’t realize until much later. Our meet-up turned into a wonderful dinner and we both experienced one of those rare moments in life where a connection on a first date seems like you have known that person for a long time.

John pulled off a very well-planned romantic proposal in Las Vegas inside the beautiful conservatory and botanical gardens at the Bellagio Casino and Hotel. Especially, since Jamie is a little hard to surprise. 😉 The gardens were heavily decorated with flowers for spring and had the theme of romance. At one point during their exploration of the gardens, John asked to take Jamie’s picture. As John was trying to get the perfect shot, a young lady ( unbeknownst to Jamie was the professional photographer he hired ) approached them and asked to take their picture. John appeared to have a reluctant expression on his face and Jamie was thinking he was not going to hand his phone to a stranger. The gardens were crowded and Jamie was standing in a very popular picture spot. Jamie was trying to gently prompt John to come and stand next to her for their picture. As she reached out to take his hand he got down on one knee and took out a shiny red box containing a beautiful sapphire and diamond engagement ring he had personally designed for her. John took Jamie's hand and asked her to be his wife. Jamie didn't hesitate since she only had one answer to give, “ Yes, I will marry you.” We're excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
