Ahoy! Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and all the happy souls in between, welcome to the about us section of Meghan and John's wedding website! Let's start from the very beginning. Once upon a time, in the bustling city of Chicago, a swiping fiesta was taking place on the Hinge app. Meghan and John were both casually swiping away, trying to find love in a hopeless place. But little did they know, destiny had already swiped right on them! Their first official date was at Homeslice in Lincoln Park. As they say, "when you know, you know." And boy, did they know! They hit it off like two peas in a pod, like peanut butter and jelly, like Cheese and crackers! Speaking of Cheese, did we mention they have a rescue dog named after everyone's favorite dairy product? Yes, they do, and he's the cheesiest doggo you'll ever meet! After a few dates, JAK knew Mac was the one when he saw her bond with his now furry best friend, Cheese. Meghan, a spunky gal with a heart of gold, fell for John's charming personality and good looks. John can make anyone laugh with his dad jokes (even if you're not a dad). John, on the other hand, was smitten by Meghan's sense of humor and her fierce love and mostly unsportsmanlike conduct when it comes to watching sports (Kansas Jayhawks and the Chiefs!). Together, they make an unstoppable team, the Batman and Robin of love, the Bonnie and Clyde of commitment, the Beyoncé and Jay-Z of romance (okay, maybe we're pushing it with that one, but you get the point). We couldn't be happier for this special day, and we can't wait to see what the future holds. So, we hope you join us in one of our favorite places - South Haven, Michigan so we can raise a glass of bubbly to a lifetime of love, laughter, and cheesy dog cuddles! Cheers!

The South Haven South Pierhead Light is a lighthouse in Michigan, at the entrance to the Black River on Lake Michigan. The station was lit in 1872, and is still operational. The catwalk is original and still links the tower to shore: it is one of only four that survive in the State of Michigan.

Parking at the main MMM facilities is limited to 50 dedicated parking spots. Approximately 200 City off-street parking spaces are available within a 10-minute walk of the MMM; another 60 spaces are located within ½ of a mile of the MMM.
The Maritime Museum campus and exhibits are handicap accessible with the exception of the on-water fleet and the boarding of historic vessel exhibits. For access to the second floor gallery where the reception will be held, there is also an elevator available.
The Dyckman Bascule Bridge spans the width of the Black River, connecting South Haven's northern and southern sides by way of Dyckman Avenue (located 50 ft away from the venue). NOTE: this may be a non-issue given the time of year, but as the late great Rosie MacFadden used to say "better to know and not need than need and not have"! The Dyckman Bridge raises and lowers on the hour and half hour when there are boats waiting in the river channel in the proximity of the bridge. allowing both automobile traffic as well as boating traffic through. Plan your travel to the wedding venue accordingly!
Please kindly RSVP no later than August 15th, 2023.
Our ceremony will be outside of the main museum campus and outdoor exhibits. During cocktail hour, guests may explore the campus exhibits indoors and outdoors with a beverage in hand before dinner. Drinks will continue to flow, along with dinner and dancing which will be inside the museum on the second floor in the gallery.
Please arrive atleast 10 minutes early to grab a drink and a seat outside on the pavilion (and avoid from getting stopped if the bridge is opening)!
