It's a tale as old as time: boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, boy moves his life for girl 4 times. Back in 2016, Grace decided to book a spontaneous flight to Texas for two weeks. She and Huy met unexpectedly at a Flume concert, where Huy excitedly asked Grace if she liked the music...and she admitted she only knew one Flume song. Despite their opposite tastes in music, Huy asked Grace out on a date and proceeded to be the most charming tour guide. He showed her the best that Houston had to offer: the Houston Improv for a live comedy show, Raising Cane's for fried chicken tenders, and Bun Bo Hue Duc Chuong for amazing Vietnamese food. By the end of Grace's visit, they knew they wanted to be together. They maintained a long distance relationship between Canada and the U.S. for 2 years. In 2018, Huy moved to Toronto to watch the Blue Jays play (and to be with Grace.) In 2019, Grace received a fellowship at Rice University, and so she and Huy loaded up a moving van with their cat, Olive, and made the long roadtrip from Toronto to Houston. In 2021, Grace received an offer to teach at Cornell, so she and Huy moved again to Ithaca, New York. In 2022, they returned to Houston to plant their roots. Huy asked Grace to marry him on his birthday the following year - featuring a surprise proposal on a rooftop overlooking downtown Austin, Texas. It was the easiest "yes" of Grace's life. Now, 4 major city moves, 3 cat adoptions, 2 cross-country moves, and countless shared laughs later, they look forward to tying the knot together with their closest family and friends from around the globe who have supported them throughout their journey.

For those flying in, we highly recommend flying in on Thursday November 7th, and flying out on Sunday November 10th (if your schedule permits). This should give you plenty of time to explore and enjoy Houston as well as participate in the wedding festivities. Please note that Houston has 2 major airports: Bush (IAH) and Hobby (HOU). If flying from Canada, all flights will arrive and depart from Bush (IAH) airport.
While we adore your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event (with the exception of children of immediate family). Thank you for understanding!
